1. Caboodles On the Go Girl Classic Case
Caboodles may be old school, but they’re still one of the best makeup storage solutions. The On the Go Girl Classic Case specifically is one of my favorites— it’s similar to a train case that opens and expands to reveal several compartments and levels. Plus, there’s a flip up mirror if you need to use it as a mini-vanity, too! It closes up to be pretty compact and easy to slide under your bed or keep on your desk. The carrying handle makes this a perfect option if you need to transport your collection to a bathroom outside of your dorm room.
2. BH Cosmetics Studded Couture 12 Piece Brush Set with Holder
This brush set has pretty much all you need to cover your entire routine. You get twelve brushes that come with their own case that can be used to display your brushes, or take them securely on-the-go. It’s a great value for an entire brush collection, plus a convenient way to store them.
3. Maybelline FaceStudio Master Contour Palette
Less is more, and palettes are the way to go when you need to save space. The Maybelline Master Contour Palette is an all-in-one, giving you contour, blush and highlight together. It comes in Light/Medium and Medium/Deep, and makes finishing your face makeup a breeze without juggling products.
4. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Plumping Mascara
This is one of my favorite everyday mascaras that delivers a naturally full look. The formula is moisturizing so your lashes stay flexible for a more natural appearance, but you’ll definitely get a boost of volume and a little bit of length. I don’t experience any flaking or smudging, either, and use it mostly for neutral makeup.
5. Revolution Pro New Neutrals Palette
I’ve been really enjoying the New Neutrals palette— you can see my swatches and a couple look options in my post here. The reason I think this is the perfect palette to bring with you to college is that you get enough neutrals for subtle looks, but the pops of glitter allow you to glam it up for parties, too! It’s a great day-to-night palette that will give you a little bit of everything. It also comes with its own eyeshadow base right in the palette!
6. L’Oreal Paris Invallible Pro-Last Waterproof Eyeliner
A long lasting eyeliner pencil is a must in any makeup collection, and this is one of my holy grails. It stays put in the waterline and can be smudged out on the lid for a long lasting smoky look.
7. L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
If you like a little more drama for your lashes, or you want an option for glam looks, nothing beats Lash Paradise at the drugstore. It’s a best seller for a reason— this will plump up your lashes for major impact. I wear it when I want to make a big statement without falsies.
8. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder
If you need to mattify your makeup for all-day wear through classes and extracurriculars, this is the powder you need! Choose the Translucent option just for setting purposes, or pick a shade close to your foundation color for a bit of extra coverage. This powder will help smooth the appearance of your skin while controlling shine and extending the wear time of your makeup.
9. Maybelline SuperStay Ink Crayon Lipsticks
When it comes to lip products, you definitely have room for more options. Right now, I’m loving these lip crayons that are super pigmented and easy to apply. Check out my swatches and full review here. They come in a variety of neutral and bold shades, and even have a built-in sharpener! Comfortable for all day wear, they can last up to 8 hours.
10. Milani Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set
Another multi-use product, this spray can be used to prime, correct and set makeup for 16 hour wear. Spray it on before makeup to use as a mattifying primer. Spray it over makeup that is looking dry or cakey for a more natural finish that won’t crease. Finally, you can apply over a finished face to extend wear time.
11. NYX Matte Liquid Liner
My favorite liquid eyeliner, this will give you the sharpest winged liner that lasts all day with it’s water resistant formula.
12. Physicians Formula Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick
Another great lip option, the Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipsticks made my top spot when ranking my favorite drugstore liquid lipsticks. They’re pigmented, have a satin finish that doesn’t dry out your lips, and they last for hours of comfortable wear. They’re made with Vitamin A & E to nourish and moisturize while you wear them, and they don’t settle into the lip lines or cake up when layered.
