Every fashionista knows that there is no such thing as overpacking when it comes to taking a vacation. We need several outfit options per day and we need a week full of makeup looks, and we most certainly need to keep it all organized so nothing misses the trip home. Our bags become our best friends and partners in crime to help us get where we’re going in style.
With three international trips under my belt in the past three years, and another one coming up in a few weeks, I’ve developed an eye for what makes a good travel companion in a bag. Packing is the absolute bane of my existence, I usually save it for the very last minute, but these travel bags have made it enjoyable and easy, since I don’t have to be selective in what I bring with me.
1Your Ultimate Carry-On Bag: The Luxx by Live Well 360
It may look unassuming from the outside, but don’t be fooled. Originally a fitness bag, this is hands down the most functional bag I’ve found for carry on packing or weekend getaways. With ridiculously ample room, you’ll have everything you need no matter how long you’re confined on a plane.
The bag has one huge main compartment for all of your must-haves, and eleven additional pockets all over that serve a multitude of purposes. Inside, there’s a large zipper pocket that’s great for any loose doodads or toiletries. Since the inner material is water and odor resistant, you don’t have to stress about spills.
There are slip pockets on both the inside and outside to hold water bottles, and another three zip pockets in the main compartment (one being fleece-lined) that’s perfect for jewelry or anything else you’ll like to keep out of harm’s way.
The wide-yet-slim back pocket fit my 15-inch Macbook housed inside a padded case perfectly, and the front zip pocket is big enough for everything you’d want quick access to: books, tablets, pens, lotion, your wallet… you name it.
And of course, there are removable yoga mat straps if you do want to use this as a fitness bag, or are going on a beach yoga retreat. But my favorite part? The shoe/sweaty clothes compartment on the side. With ample room, you can store sneakers or dirty clothes away from your clean clothes so they’re not mingling.
When you think you’ve run out of room, you haven’t. Even with all of this inside, I still had plenty of nooks and crannies to stick extra travel must-haves. It’s basically a current-day Mary Poppins bag— you will be amazed with how much you can fit inside. I was able to fit my 15 inch laptop, gym shoes, my wallet, three lip products, hand lotion, two novels, a glass waterbottle, a full makeup bag, an Amazon Fire tablet, two shirts, two pairs of jeans, three bras and panties, and a yoga mat… and there was still room.
The Luxx comes in three colors: black, grey and blue. You can find it on their website for $169.
