The Best Eyeshadows for One Shade Looks

Ya’ll know that I love dramatic eyeshadow— whether it be smokey or colorful, I love mixing and matching shades. But lately, I’ve really been digging one shade eyeshadow looks for everyday wear. In fact, minimal makeup has sort of been my jam lately. Sometimes, less is more and these particular eyeshadows still make me feel made up without doing anything intricate.

Keep reading to discover my favorite eyeshadows to use for one shade eyeshadow looks.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in Deep Dive and Set to Stun

These are the shadows I use the most for one shade looks. Deep Dive is a warm bronze with a ton of gold shimmer in it, and Set to Stun is a medium rose gold with iridescent pink and blue shimmer. They both add a lot of dimension in just one swipe. Like all the Super Shock Shadows, these are best applied with your finger to get the most color payoff. I start on my lid to pack most of the pigment there, then blend upward into my crease and slightly onto the brow bone.

Covergirl Healthy Vitalist Highlight in Candleligt

While this product was technically meant to be a face highlighter, I love the deeper shades in the line to use as cream shadows! Candlelight is a rosy champagne (lighter than CP Set to Stun) and sort of gives your lids a glossy look. I use this without any primer underneath as it dries down and lasts all day on its own without creasing.

a2O Labs Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Dust

These are a new discovery, and they’re pretty dang cool for just ONE DOLLAR. You can see more shades I swatched and an in-depth review in this post. These liquid shadows, though more creamy than liquid, are easy to swipe on with the doe foot applicator and blend out with either the wand or your fingers. I’ll admit, this particular pick isn’t great for oily lids and primer is a must. The shade Dust is a beautiful plum that’s great for an easy sultry smokey look.

wet n wild Pump Keep Going Eyeshadow in Mud Run

I love me an eyeshadow crayon! The Keep Going eyeshadows, which I reviewed and swatched in this post, were a collaboration between the brand and Cassey Ho of Blogilates to give a makeup option for those with an active lifestyle. They’re “hot-yoga proof” (sweatproof and waterproof) and I actually put them to the test against a high intensity interval bootcamp class. These are awesome if you need something simple and super long lasting! Mud Run is a cool shade that shifts from champagne to bronze depending on how it’s catching the light. Perfect to add both shade and light with just one product!
