When Milani launched their Color Fetish Matte The Nudes Collection last year, I fell in love with the formula, and I wasn’t alone. The drugstore lipsticks quickly became the most sought after makeup product, selling out online and in stores for months at a time. One of the first things I said when trying them was that I hope they expand the line beyond neutrals… and they just did with the Color Fetish Matte Flora Lipsticks.
The brand just dropped the Color Fetish Matte Flora Collection, with six brand new shades in the same creamy, high impact formula. As a refresher from my original review, these lipsticks are infused with hyaluronic acid and castor oil for a smooth application that feels hydrating on the lips. Even though you get a gorgeous velvet matte finish, you don’t get the classic dry matte feel. These glide without tugging, smooth over dry texture and lines, and stay comfortable all day.
As with their predecessors, these lipsticks apply full coverage color in one stroke. The new Flora Collection focuses on flower-inspired shades like pinks, berries, and a pop of red. Despite being a spring collection, the shades have you covered year round with the deeper berries for beautiful fall picks and a red that can be fierce in any season.
Something to note with these new shades even more-so than the Nudes is that this is not a transfer-proof or smudge-proof formula. You’ll need to reapply after eating, however the brighter shades do leave a stain (3-6 in the photo above). You’ll have a bit of color left even if the lipstick rubs off, so fading won’t be outrageously noticeable.
What Lip Liners Match The Flora Collection Lipsticks?
Milani also added new shades to their Understatement Lip Liners that match the Flora Collection beautifully. Using lip liners underneath lipstick can help prevent the appearance of fading, and help prevent feathering. Here are the liners to pick up if you want the set:
Lipstick Shade – Lip Liner Shade
Peony – French Rose
Petal – Desert Rose
Blossom – Audacious Pink
Poppy – Sassy Cherry
Fleur – Magenta Mood
Dahlia – Brazenberry
