Although it’s been hot as all heck for the past month in L.A., the official start of summer was only this past Sunday. This is definitely the best season for light, glowy makeup— one of my favorite looks!
I la-la-love doing this makeup because it is so versatile, being mostly neutral, but still has a “done up” feel to it with the shimmer on the eyes. I use a light liquid foundation to even out the skin tone and my all-time favorite highlighter to create a dewy, luminous face that will be catching the light (and eyes) all season long.
For this look, I’m using some new brushes from EcoTools that I’ve really been enjoying.
First off, if you’re a fan of stippling your foundation like I am, you need to try the new EcoTools Stippling Brush. It’s unique because, while it has very soft and thin bristles towards the top like normal stippling brushes, it’s got a round and plush body. This makes it really easy to blend in makeup and diminishes any streakiness.
I’m also pretty in love with the new EcoTools Tapered Blush Brush. It has a flattened shape, but is still soft and flexible for blending out blush. The shape makes it easy to double up as a contouring brush, since it fits nicely in the hollows of the cheeks.
They also released the the Eye Enhancing Duo Set, with two double-ended brushes that will help you for every step of your eye makeup, as well as the Angled Kabuki Brush which is huge and ultra-flexible for powder application.
