Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades

This summer, Milani launched their massive new Color Statement Nail Lacquer line, consisting of a total 37 shades! To help you weed through them all, I’m sharing my favorite colors appropriate for the fall season.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Mauving Forward

Mauving Forward reminds me a lot of Aubrey from Zoya’s Naturel Deux collection. A deep, warm mauve that is neutral enough to match many different outfits.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Ruby Stone

Classic red shades like Ruby Stone are appropriate year round, but I think they’re especially beautiful in fall. This deep red has a slight shimmer to it and a cool undertone.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Silhouette

Silhouette is a muted khaki green with grey undertones. I also think this shade is neutral enough to be pretty versatile when it comes to matching with outfits or makeup looks.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Sugar Plum

Sugar Plum is a super fun fuchsia with pink and blue shimmer particles that make for a cool, universally flattering undertone.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Bronze

Despite its name, Bronze is much more of a beige pink shade with a metallic finish. Foils and metallics are very trendy this season, which is why this light shade made the cut for my fall picks.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Gold Plated

Gold Plated is a beautiful pale gold with an extreme metallic shimmer finish. So, it’s a little more glam than the typical “fall leaves” gold… whatever! Careful when you decide to remove it, though. Shimmer will be everywhere.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Charcoal Charm

Charcoal Charm is a cool toned grey shade with a metallic finish; it looks sort of like brushed metal. I really like layering glitter on top of this to spice it up, or wear it alone for a chic look.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Ink Spot

Ink Spot is a deep, dark, blackened blue that reminds me of the night sky. It’s easy to mistake this for black in most lighting.

Review & Swatches: Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers Fall Shades - Enchanting

Enchanting is a blackened wine shade that, similarly to Ink Spot, can be mistaken for black. I love these rich, deep hues for fall!

The Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers have a thin consistency, though most can achieve full coverage with just one coat applied. Despite being thin, the formula doesn’t run or slip on the nail. Surprisingly, even though I’m pretty hard on my nails during the week, I experienced great staying power with these polishes. I started to see tip wear on day three, with noticeable chips by day six.

These cost around $4 per bottle in drugstores, and you can see the other 28 shades on Milani’s website.
