REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils

Now that we’re transitioning into summer, I’m taking more precautions to make sure my makeup stays on all day long. One way I’ve been prolonging my eyeshadow is using a creamy base to make powders stick and last. I’ve fallen head over heels for the Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils, not only as eyeshadow bases, but for full coverage color that lasts.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils

The eyeshadow pencils are water resistant with both matte and shimmer finishes. They are soft and glide onto the eye with absolutely no tugging.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils - Eternal White

Eternal White is a pure snow color with a matte finish. This shade is perfect for making eyeshadows pop with pigment.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils - Continuous Almond

Continuous Almond is a light beige with a matte finish. This works as a great base for neutral shadows, as it evens out my skin tone with full coverage.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils - Aqua Last

Aqua Last is an aqua blue with a satin finish (even though the pencil is labelled as matte).

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils - Endless Emerald

Endless Emerald is a forest green with a shimmer finish.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils- Prolong Purple

Prolong Purple is a royal purple with a shimmer finish.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils - Stay-On Black

Stay-On Black is a pitch black with a matte finish.

These pencils apply with complete opacity, and are easily blendableβ€” but once they set, they’re SET. They live up to their claims and last all day both on their own and topped off with eyeshadow. There was extremely minimal creasing on my oily lids by the 8th hour, but certainly nothing to be up in arms about. You could even realistically skip primer on busy days, and just apply eyeshadow over these for long wear.

REVIEW: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils Swatches

Aside from wearing these as both bases for my eyeshadow as well as lid colors, I’ve liked applying them with an eyeliner brush for smudge-free liner! I can blend them out to create a sultry smokey eye, or keep it clean for a cat eye. I just swipe the brush over the tip and apply!

The only downside to the pencils is how jumbo they really areβ€” they don’t fit in a lot of my dual pencil sharpeners. The one I finally found that can handle them is the Sonia Kashuk Dual Hole Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener.

For just around $4, these are among my new favorite drugstore finds. They are an even more affordable alternative to the already budget-friendly NYX eyeshadow sticks, and frankly: much longer lasting.
