Milani Color Fetish Matte The Nudes Collection Review & Swatches

We’ve got another viral drugstore makeup product that is literally selling out everywhere— the Milani Color Fetish Matte The Nudes Collection Lipsticks! They’re the perfect nude lipsticks to have on hand for fall, and you may just want to snag them all… if you’re able to find them.

The Color Fetish Matte Lipsticks ($8.99) have an ultra creamy formula that glides on smoothly, with intense color in one stroke. There are six shades available, from light peach to a deep brown, designed to compliment every skin tone. And yes, they’re cruelty free and vegan.

Aside from the packaging— and maybe “comfort lipstick” concept— these are very different from the original Color Fetish lipsticks which are more like pigmented lip balms. The only way you’ll be able to tell the difference between the two in store is by the gold detailing which signifies the Matte version.

Shades:
1. Tease
2. Secret
3. Pleasure
4. Desire
5. Passion
6. Sensual

All six shades are staple neutral lipsticks, and I think they did a great job at the range within the collection. There’s not one dud in the line for me— even though lighter pinks usually make me look washed out, these ones actually flattered my skin tone well, and the deeper shades made a statement without being too stark.

This is one of the most comfortable matte lipstick formulas I’ve worn, hands down. The formula includes hyaluronic acid and castor oil, and they really glide onto your lips with a creamy texture that I found to actually smooth out some of my lip lines and dry patches. The finish is a velvet matte, so it’s not flat or crackly looking. There’s still just the slightest bit of a shine that gives your lips dimension.

You get full and even coverage color in just one swipe. However, this isn’t an entirely transfer-proof lipstick and I didn’t find it to last long past eating lunch. This is definitely a lipstick you’ll want to reapply, at least at the very center of the lips which was practically bare by the end of the day without touching up. With that said, there’s no feathering outside the lip lines, but a liner can help with longevity and getting a clean outline.

I never expect a standard bullet lipstick to last as long as a matte liquid lipstick, especially one that doesn’t dry down to a true matte, so needing to reapply after eating isn’t a dealbreaker for me and doesn’t take away from the highlights of this formula.

You can find the Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipsticks The Nudes Collection online for $8.99 each, though many shades are currently sold out.

Which formula do you prefer— the original or matte?
