The Best of Week 1

Foreo LUNA Play Plus | $24.50 on 9/5 (Reg. $49)
I personally use the full-size Foreo LUNA 2 in my skin care routine, but the LUNA Play Plus packs the same skin cleansing benefits in a smaller model. It features two sizes of silicone bristles to help deeply cleanse and gently exfoliate, and you never have to replace brush heads. This small device delivers 8,000 T-Sonic pulsations per minute and uses a replaceable AAA battery. I’ve been using LUNA devices for nearly four years now, and my skin is much smoother and consistently clearer than when I used brush cleansing devices. Even though I have the larger device, this one is perfect for traveling with due to the size and price (I always get nervous about losing expensive items while traveling).

MAC Lipstick in shades Diva & Creme In Your Coffee | $9.25 on 9/5 (Reg. $18.50)
Is any makeup collection actually complete without a classic MAC lipstick? They’re iconic, and still a pro favorite. Two shades are featured during the sale, and are perfect for all your upcoming fall makeup looks. Diva is an intense matte burgundy, and Creme In Your Coffee is a creamy medium pinky brown with a satin finish. If you’ve never owned a MAC lipstick before, there’s no excuse now– these are cheaper than most drugstore lipsticks during this sale!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer | $11.50 on 9/7 (Reg. $23)
The queen of brow brands at drugstore prices? Yes please! This brow pencil is perfect for outlining, filling and detailing the brows. It features a triangular, flat-edged tip that offers the precise control of a fine point with the convenience of the flat surface to sweep the color through the brows quickly. The soft spoolie helps soften the look and blend the color.

Too Faced Natural Face & Natural Eye Palettes | $19-22 on 9/8 (Reg. $38-44)
The Natural Face palette is the ultimate all-in-one palette with contour, bronzer, blush and highlight shades in both satin and matte finishes. Too Faced says it’s suitable for all skin tones, but deeper skin tones may not find the contour and bronzer shades useful. The original Natural Eye palette was one of my most-used eyeshadow palettes ever for years. It’s probably the last product I actually hit pan on. The brand updated the palette recently to their new coconut butter-infused formula, and it’s better than ever. It’s balanced perfectly between mattes, shimmers, and tones of colors for multiple look options. There is also an all-matte version of the Natural Eye palette that will be eligible for sale prices.

Urban Day All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder | $17 on 9/9 (Reg. $34)
I’m a die-hard fan of Urban Decay’s All Nighter spray, so I’m very eager to try the powder version. This setting powder is supposed to turn any foundation matte and… wait for it… waterproof. It helps foundation mattify and prolong wear up to 11 hours with a lightweight, blurred finish. Sounds way too good to be true, so I need to try it immediately.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Eyeshadow Palettes | $17
 on 9/10 (Reg. $34)
These bite-sized shadow palettes are awesome for on-the-go, giving you just enough for a colorful glam or neutral eyeshadow look. There are two versions of the 7-color palettes: Sparkling Pineapple has pops of gold and green among earthy neutrals, and Razzle Dazzle Berry features pinks and purples.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara | $11.50 on 9/12 (Reg. $23)
You can pretty much always depend on this mascara being part of the 21 Days event, and it’s back once more. I’m never really an advocate for spending the money on high-end mascaras since there are so many killer affordable options, but this one is worth a try for the sale price. Its 4-in-1 formula is supposed to do it all: volumize, lengthen, curl and condition your lashes for fluttery drama that lasts.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush & Highlighters | $14.50 on 9/13 (Reg. $29)
The Amazonian Clay powder formula from Tarte feels so good on the skin, and makes their products blend so seamlessly. It’s also incredibly long-wear, making for an awesome option for blush and highlighter when you don’t want your glow to dull a bit throughout the day.

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kits & Velvet Lip Kits | $13.50-14.50 on 9/14 (Reg $27-29)
While I don’t think these are the very best liquid lipsticks on the market, the Kylie lip kits are still one of those products you’ve gotta try at least once. This sale brings their price down to that of a drugstore lip, plus remember that you’re actually getting two products within each kit. You can’t really beat that value for the name!

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation | $19.75 on 9/14 (Reg. $39.50)
If you’re not huge on wearing foundation, this is the foundation for you! It’s a tinted moisturizer… but on steroids. While it feels just like a daytime skin care product, you get enough coverage to completely conceal skin concerns like redness, breakouts, and dark spots. Meanwhile, the formula hydrates and stays feeling light. It looks smooth with a radiant finish that looks natural and barely there, plus it offers sun protection with a whopping SPF 50+.

Philosophy Night Creams | $24.50-40 on 9/14 (Reg. $49-80)
I consider Philosophy skin care to be totally decadent and indulgent, and their prices can definitely reflect that. These sale prices make the brand much more attainable, so you can try out some of their rich night creams. Just beware of getting hooked on expensive skin care during this sale, because you may experience sticker shock when the prices go back up.

Tartelette 2 In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette | $19.50 on 9/15 (Reg. $39)
While I haven’t tried this palette specifically, Tarte does make some of my favorite high-end eyeshadows with their Amazonian Clay formula and this is one of the brand’s highest rated items on the Ulta site. They’re incredibly buttery, go on with intense pigment, and blend like a dream. This particular palette features must-have neutrals in beautiful packaging that is travel-friendly. It has a mix of cool and warm tones, and will give you a ton of versatility.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Waterproof Concealer | $13 on 9/20 (Reg. $26)
First of all, I need to point out that they do sell a travel size version of this product for $10 regularly, and that little tube can last you a very long time. However, picking up the full size tube during the sale will get you almost 3x the amount of product for only a few dollars more. This is one of the most full coverage concealers I’ve ever worn– she THICC and it can take some time to figure out the best application/blending strategy for your routine (for me, a small flat brush works best in stippling and circular motions). Less is more with this product, but even a thin layer will cover the darkest bags, last all day with waterproof wear and won’t fade.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils | $11 on 9/21 (Reg. $22)
While I’ve identified some close-but-not-quite drugstore dupes for these pencils, there’s no denying the legendary performance and huge shade range of the 24/7 liners! These eyeliners are super creamy, glide on with no tug, and last all day without smudging or fading– plus, they’re waterproof. They’re probably the best eye pencil you’ll ever try, but at $22 each, it’s hard to choose which shades to splurge on. Basics that are guaranteed to get used, or fun colors that will stay vibrant all day? With this sale price, I’ll be grabbing the basics plus some fun shades to add to my collection!

Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil | $12 on 9/21 (Reg. 24)
This is my favorite brow pencil across all price points. I prefer a very fine tip when shaping and filling in my brows, as it mimics real hair strokes the most realistically and provides a lot of control. This pencil gives me the definition I love with a 12-hour waterproof wear. With other products, it’s really easy for me to over-do my brows since they are pretty dark and promenant already… but they always come out right when I use this pencil!

  1. Hi Miranda,
I wasn’t thrilled w/ the Kylie’s matte liquid lip in Bare, but I do love the matching lip liner. I just don’t want to spend $13.50 – $14.50 on both products, knowing I’m, only going to be using the liner. Do you know of a drugstore dupe for Kylie’s Bare lip liner?

    Thanks, Deena

  2. I am definitely going to be picking up the Benefit Precisely My Brow pencil. I have never tried it but it is always raved about!

  3. I’m out around $600-750 with this “sale” LOL.. For some reason I got really excited over just the current catalog in general, and it’s been at least a yr or 18mos since I felt happy about both sales, deals, and new launches happening in the same month

  4. Unfortunately, the link to the full list of deals doesn’t work because Ulta tells me to shop current deals instead, boo hoo. It was fun to read your “best of” each week in the meantime. I will probably pass of this 21 days, but I guess I should never say never 😉
