NYX Lingerie Push-Up Long-Lasting Lipsticks Review

Let’s take a step back from the liquid lipsticks for a moment, shall we? I’ve been wearing a lot of crayon lipsticks lately because they’re so easy to swipe on, lining and filling at once. Specifically, I’ve been super into the new NYX Lingerie Push-Up Long-Lasting Lipsticks: creamy crayons with a comfortable demi-matte finish.

The Lingerie Push Up lipsticks are retractable, but there is a sharpener at the bottom of each crayon you can pop off and use to get the tip back to a precise point. I love that more products are including this feature, since I like a sharp outline when it comes to overdrawing my lips.

These lip crayons glide onto the lips with full color in one swipe. They don’t quite feel weightless, but they’re not too thick either— a good balmy consistency once applied. Your lips won’t feel dry once they set, either. Most of the shades glide on smoothly with no tugging or skipping… I’ll clarify what I mean by “most” in a second. While fragrance isn’t listed in this lipstick’s ingredients, it has a minty smell and cooling sensation. I can’t pinpoint exactly what it would be coming from, but I’m guessing the fruit extracts in the formula.

Let’s take a look at the six shades I’ve been wearing:

1 – Silk Indulgent: This shade was the least flattering. It’s a very pale pink with fine silver shimmer but has a hard time applying smoothly. These types of shades don’t really look great on my skin tone anyway, so all around it was my least favorite.
2 – Corset: This one is super unique and I’m into it! The shade is a beige-y grey or “greige” with fine gold shimmer. It definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love less-than-traditional lipstick shades.
3 – Seduction: My most worn shade so far, this is a terra cotta red that’s perfect for Fall.
4 – French Maid: This is a muted plummy mauve that gives slightly vampy vibes without being super shocking.
5 – Embellishment: I love this cool purple with grey undertones, it’s a grungy spin on berry that I love wearing this season.
6 – Teddy: A deep chocolatey brown that’s giving me all the 90s feels!

Each shade packs a punch when it comes to pigmentation— all the above swatches were done with only one layer! However, Silk Indulgent seemed to be an outlier when it came to ease of application. This shade felt particularly drier than the others, with patchy application that I couldn’t get to look even. All the others felt buttery as I applied, but this one just seems to be a miss all around.

As for the “Long-Lasting” claim in the name, I’m happy to report that there is very little fading throughout the day but it’s not entirely transfer-proof. You’ll most likely need to touch up the inner most part of the lips after eating, perhaps more when oily food is involved, but the smooth consistency layers easily.

The NYX Lingerie Push-Up Long-Lasting Lipsticks are available at Ulta Beauty for only $9!

Lip crayons or liquid lipsticks– what are you wearing more lately?
