Mei Li Audrey: The Small Purse For Literally Everything

Sponsored by Mei Li. All opinions are my own.

As I get more into fashion, my wardrobe is definitely growing, and my closet is getting a little cluttered. So when it comes to my accessories, I’m really relying on versatile pieces that can be worn with all sorts of outfits no matter the occasion.

Last month, I showed you a neat new bag from Mei Li: the Amelia Crossbody Bag that was a clutch, crossbody, and full size detachable wallet all in one. It was one of the most genius inventions in my eyes, because I hate having to move my wallet must-haves from one purse to another, then forgetting to move them back. Anyone know what I mean?

So Mei Li just blew my mind again because their newest design, the Audrey Mini Backpack, takes that idea to the next level. It’s not released quite yet, but I have a special sneak peek for you!

The body of the Audrey bag is a bit larger than the Min, which I’m all about because I need to carry my sunglasses, hand lotion, and hand sanitizer with me at all time which can get a little bulky. There’s a large main compartment, sandwiched between a flat pocket and the removable full-size wallet with 12 card compartments, 2 cash slots, and a coin pocket! Just like the Min, the wallet attaches with four magnetic snaps and reinforced with the straps.

What makes the Audrey super different, though, is the many ways you can wear it! It comes with multiple, interchangeable straps so it can go with you no matter what your plans are. The Audrey can be worn in 4 different styles— as a mini back pack, a cross-body bag, a hand bag and a waist bag.

I haven’t really picked up on the mini backpack trend since it started, but I love how the Audrey looks when worn this way! I could see myself wearing it like this on a day out touring a new city, or just shopping with the girls.

I’m actually obsessed with wearing my Audrey as a waist bag, though. I am 100% a full supporter of fanny packs, so having something a little more stylish with the same convenience is totally my jam. You achieve this look by using only one of the backpack straps, which are adjustable, around your waist. This is my favorite way to wear it for events like festivals, concerts, or just strolling along the Vegas strip. And if you’re against fanny packs or “waist bags,” then we can’t be friends.

For a more traditional look, the bag comes with a long strap so that it can be worn as a crossbody. This is definitely a go-to of mine if I’m not wearing it as a waist bag. It’s easy, still hands-free, and will match nearly any look I wear it with.

Now, I will say that the Audrey is a bit bulkier than the Min, and isn’t quite a convenient size to use as a clutch. Because of that, there’s a short strap to wear it as a handbag for more formal occasions. I think wearing it in this style, draped over your arm, looks very chic and perhaps more “night out” appropriate. I personally prefer hands-free wear, but I can definitely see myself styling it like this with dressier outfits, especially for wedding season coming up!

  1. I love crossbody purses! I love the security and and all that, and this style is so cute! Also! Your hair is SO PRETTY.

    1. Actually, on top of the snaps there are clip rings so the wallet is clipped into the actual bag and strap you’re using. So it wouldn’t be able to be snatched off unless they unclipped two points.

  2. This is so cute as a backpack but not practical in NYC 🙁 I would definitely wear it as a crossover.

  3. I love these sorts of bags for travelling! I like how this one converts to a backpack.

    1. That’s what I thought, but forcing myself to downsize, I was able to really hone in on what I actually use when I’m out!

  4. I normally can’t use a small bag because I carry too much stuff, but with the addition of the detachable wallet I could work this! I love that it’s so versatile–I would totally use the waist option!

    1. Yes exactly– the detachable wallet keeps everything out of the way so you can use the main compartment for other must-haves. Really makes a huge difference while keeping it small!

  5. I was just reading an article and it talked about these smaller purses being the trend this year. This is a great looking one too.

  6. I adore your white dress! I wish I could wear something like that but I’m 100% sure I would get it dirty the second I left home.
