Holiday Hair Tutorial: Easy & Elegant Braided Updo

My calendar is filling up quickly as the holidays approach! I am completing my finals in school during the next couple weeks, which leaves me with little time to plan out extravagant holiday looks. Last Monday, I showed you my go-to holiday party makeup that I’ve been wearing pretty frequently this season. Today, I’ve got a heavily requested tutorial to show you how to create this elegant braided updo that is quick and easy.

If you already know how to french braid, this hairstyle will be a cinch. If you don’t, I explain it briefly in the tutorial below. Watch for the step-by-step, and for details about the giveaway!

This style takes all of about five minutes to complete and I always get compliments when I wear it. It’s been one of my favorite ways to wear my hair since I cut it to a medium length (which seriously limited the number of hairdos I can pull off).

  1. A mi me gusta llevar un chongo es mucho mas fácil de llevar y asi evitó estar al pendiente de siempre retirar el cabello de ni rostro muy bonito peinado gracias por el sorteo

  2. I wear my hair a little fancier during the holidays when visiting friends and family. I use my clipless curling iron to get loose spirals throughout my hair. I have long hair, so it looks feminine and bouncy but not overdone.

  3. I love doing a messy bun but then poofing the top up, it ends up looking very fifties pin-up! Takes about two minutes, too, which is always a good option for me.

  4. I think I might actually be able to make my hair do this look! I can never get it to say in any kind of updo, but if I can put massive amounts of bobby pins in, it might just work!

  5. I wish I had half the hair you did! 🙁 I have baby fine, thin hair and it’s sometimes impossible to do updos, but I’m gonna try this!

  6. I have naturally curly hair so it takes a lot of product and work to straighten it. Of course that’s the way I like it the best! I save straightening for special occasions. But i can’t wait to try this look. So simple but looks so elegant.

  7. Hi Miranda! I was wondering if there is any way to enter the giveaway if you don’t have any social media accounts? I don’t have any of the entry options.

  8. When I had long hair for years and years, braided looks were my favorite. Love this updo braided look! Wish I had known about it back then
