ULTA Grand Opening + HAUL
This past Friday was an especially awesome day in my beauty blogging history, as I went to ULTA for the very first time! Yes, I know, you’re thinking: “Um, Miranda, you’re a beauty blogger… how have you never been to ULTA?” Well, there was never one close enough for my lazy self! Now there’s one 10 minutes away and my wallet is in trouble!
Friday was the first day of the store’s 3 day grand opening event. For the whole weekend, the first 100 guests each day would receive a gift certificate ranging from $5 to $100, and a free salon service! They were also holding weekend door buster sales on many of the already affordable drugstore brands, along with free gifts with purchase. If you ever get a chance to go to an ULTA grand opening, DO IT!
I went mid-day when the morning crowd had already died down a bit, but the place was still poppin’! I swear, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more at home in any other store like I did in ULTA. It’s like my personal heaven! Check out what I picked up during my first (but definitely NOT last) ULTA shopping trip:

I went back on Saturday to return the mirror I bought, because the image looked all warped in the glass. Since I was one of the first 100 people in the store that day, I got a $15 gift certificate and a free salon visit (which I’m going to use this weekend for a much-needed cut!).
I’m so excited that this store is finally open near me! I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing all my beauty shopping here, since they also have really great deals on drugstore makeup, too.

What time did you go to be one of the first 100? There’s one by me and I wanted to get there on time!
I went at about 9:45 on Saturday morning and was one of the last people to redeem the gift certificate when it opened at 10. I heard on Friday there were people lining up at 7am though! If it’s a one day only event, I would say get there much earlier, otherwise you have a little wiggle room for the rest of the weekend 🙂

I visit my Ulta store a few times a month, they have the best reward system! My only complaint is that my Ulta takes a while to get new product in.
I went to Ulta for one thing this weekend and $123 later I walked out with some news goodies. I love their coupons, they also do 20% off the entire store a few times a year and they have the BEST rewards system!
I have an Ulta 5 mins away, but I usually shop online anyway. Bummer that that guy took all the Real Techniques brushes! rude. I was shopping online for the new NYX Simply Vamp lippies, and they’re all gone, there, too. Purples are in, and I’m too slow!

There are a dozen Ulta’s within an hour’s drive of me, so I’m not likely to ever see a grand opening sale. Sounds like it is something to not miss, though.
