The Best Eyeshadows for One and Done Looks
I’m always on the hunt for good one and done eyeshadows to add to my collection. One and Done eyeshadows are shades and formulas you can wear all by themselves— they add just enough of a statement on their own, and they’re easy to apply and blend over the lid.
One shade eyeshadow looks really help streamline my makeup routine versus trying to mix and match several colors and finishes from a palette. I’ve been wearing them more consistently lately, and the look is a big makeup trend in 2022. Here are my favorite drugstore eyeshadows to use alone.
1. Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow (High Roller)
This cream eyeshadow has been a drugstore favorite since I started blogging back in 2012… and for good reason! It’s super pigmented, easy to apply and blend out for a soft edge (even with your fingers!) and is incredibly long lasting. The formula is waterproof, crease resistant and fade resistant, even when worn without primer. My favorite shade is High Roller, a cool bronze.
2. L’Oreal Brilliant Eyes Liquid Eyeshadow (Precious Lava)
If you want a high-impact metallic look, then this is the choice for you! The Brilliant Eyes Liquid Eyeshadows are bold, shimmery liquid shadows you can paint on for opaque color, or softly blend out for a wash. It’s crease-resistant, flake-proof and transfer resistant and one of my favorites to grab in summer— especially in this gold shade called Precious Lava.
3. Ulta Beauty Matte Cream Eyeshadow (Flower Child)
Maybe you’re looking for something a bit more subtle. If you don’t want shimmery brights but still want an easy all-over shade, check out the Ulta Beauty Matte Cream Eyeshadows. Available in 4 neutral shades, this cream formula is waterproof and primer-infused for all day wear. It sets into a smooth and powdery looking matte finish that lasts through anything— even a pool day!
4. Revlon So Fierce! Prismatic Eyeshadow Palettes (Clap Back)
I first struggled to create looks using these four-shade palettes, until I realized that each shade worked best as a one-and-done eyeshadow! The formula is a sort of hybrid between powder and cream, and applies best either with your finger or with a wet brush for the most intensity. I do prime before using these for the best results. Above, I’m wearing the blue shade from my favorite of the collection, the Clap Back palette.
5. ColourPop Super Shock Shadow (Set to Stun)
The Super Shock Shadows from ColourPop are ideal for one shade eyeshadow looks, the formula being so easy to work with and a range of shades that each look beautiful on their own. They’re buildable, and long wearing when worn with primer. This is the best option when you want a larger shade range of neutrals and brights.
That blue eye look is absolutely stunning on you! Great post, as usual
I cant wait to get to an ulta! That eyeshadow looks so cute as well!
