My Three Favorite Drugstore Green Beauty Brands
With all the products we use in our beauty routine— whether it be makeup, skin care or body care— some people want to makeover their shelves with green beauty products. There are more natural ingredients and eco-friendly options than ever now in the beauty aisle, and while my own routine isn’t 100% green, there are a few brands that I love and recommend because of the quality and commitment to cleaner beauty.
1. Love Beauty & Planet
I’ve raved about Love Beauty & Planet in the past, and they’re still part of my shower routine today! The brand takes a holistic approach to not only their end product but the production process as well. Their products are packaged in 100% recycled bottles (and they’re 100% recyclable too!), their formulas are made to rinse quickly to conserve your water, and the brand utilizes natural and responsibly sourced vegan ingredients. They’re cruelty-free and most of all, their products work so well. I love their hair care and body washes, which feel and smell like a high-end line. Most of their products are $10 and under at your local drugstore or Ulta Beauty, though!
2. Derma E
If you’re looking for natural skin care, Derma E is one of the best at the drugstore. Their formulas are 100% vegan and cruelty free, and made without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy or GMOs. They focus on natural antioxidants and vitamins to give you the best results for your skin needs. The product packaging components are recyclable, and they boast offsetting 100% of conventional electricity use with wind energy certificates. Their SPF products are chemical-free but still offer broad spectrum protection and tested to be safe for the coral reef ecosystems.
3. Physicians Formula
Physicians Formula is one of my favorite drugstore brands because of their quality makeup and sensitive-skin formulas. Their products are hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin and eyes and made without any of the 150+ known harsh ingredients that are common in other personal care items. Throughout their makeup lineup, you’ll find products that are cruelty free, fragrance free, paraben free, gluten free, dermatologist approved and non-comedogenic. However, they do have a specific line of organic products called the Physicians Formula Organic Wear, giving you natural options for CC creams, moisturizers, mascaras, and face & lip oils.
