March 2014 Beauty Box 5 Review

    March Beauty Box 5

I know I’m a little late with this post, since almost everyone got their March Beauty Box 5 in the mail about a week and a half ago, but things have been hectic over here, alright? πŸ˜›

Before receiving this box, I had posted the sneak peekΒ which revealed that we’d all be getting the full size makeup base from Bellapierre. Just from that, I knew it was gonna be a great box!

    Unboxing & Product Descriptions

    Product Breakdown:

    1. Jane’s Pick All Natural Soap in Gentle? (Sample Size, Retail: $8)
I do love handmade bar soaps, but this sample was sort of measly! My sniffer guesses that this is in the scent called Gentle, which is eucalyptus and aloe.

    2. Tree Hut Moisturizing Hand Cream in Coconut Lime (Full Size, Retail: $5.29)
Whoop whoop! I can’t get enough of hand creams, and this one brings me right back to the beach in the Cayman Islands, sipping on margaritas! Seriously though, it smells like heaven and is moisturizing. A perfect replacement for the last hand lotion BB5 sent, which I used up quickly!

    3. Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base (Full Size, Retail: $18)
Definitely the star of the show, this is going to get a lot of use. The makeup base can be multi-purposed as a concealer or illuminator, but I suspect it might be too light for me in those regards. It’s light and buttery, and dries to a smooth finish which will hopefully help my eyeshadow stick to my eyelids!

    4. Design Essentials Natural Curl Enhancing Mousse (Sample Size, Retail: $15.99)
This is going to be put to the test, I’m sure. I’ve been more comfortable showcasing my curls in public since I got a haircut that lets them fall a bit more evenly, but they are still hard to tame. Anything that can give me definition and moisture is a welcome addition to my beauty routine. Plus, this deluxe sample contains a good amount so I can really test it with my thick hair!

    5. Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad (Full Size, Retail: $2)
Since I’ve phased out microbeads from my skincare routine, I’ve been looking for an alternative solution to exfoliate. This pad will work great with my creamy face washes while getting rid of dry skin patches.

This could be my favorite box yet, just because it covers all the bases! I’m always happy when we get a makeup product, and the hair mousse got me really excited. We also got 3 full size items which is always a treat!

A Beauty Box 5 subscription is only $12 month to month, with discount options if you pay for the service in advance. You can order a subscription and customize your box online at

Did we get the same items? What was your favorite?

    1. I got the same box. What’s up with the tiny soap?? I was disappointed by that, too. I think we have very similar hair textures – I get kinky curls close to the hairline, starting at the temples, and the closer to the crown, the straighter it gets. Like you, the longer it gets, the flatter it gets, too. I would love to be able to wear it down more, but it’s just too much for our humidity here in Florida. Looking forward to seeing how you like that curl mousse stuff!
