Concert Prep Must Haves

Win two tickets to the Premios Juventud VIP Tour!

Post sponsored by Gigasavvy. All opinions are my own.

When I was younger, I was a total concert junkie. It was— and still is— one of my favorite feelings to sing along loudly to my favorite artists with thousands of other people in the crowd, having a great time with good friends and making new ones.

Over the years, I’ve learned a ton of concert beauty tricks and discovered key products to help me prep for a fun night out. These play a big part in helping me have a good time, since they keep me feeling good and looking good.

Not headed to a concert? Keep reading after my best tips on getting ready for a concert to see how you can attend Premios Juventus VIP Tour in Los Angeles!

    1. Wear Your Hair Up, or Bring a Hair Tie

The fact of the matter is, during a concert on a summer night, hair worn down is most likely going to limp, messy and a source of heat by mid-show. By all means, make it cute and wear it down for pictures before the show, but be prepared to put it in a topknot later when you’re feeling sticky and hot.

    2. Sport Sweat-Proof Makeup

If you’ve decided to get all dolled up for the show, opt for makeup you can trust won’t melt off your face. You’ll also want to set it with powder or a setting spray to lock everything in place. If you have oily skin, go for a translucent powder. For drier skin, try a setting spray, which will help maintain your natural summer glow while giving your makeup extra wear time.

    3. Have Hand Sanitizer, well, Handy!

It is so important to throw a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your bag before leaving for the show! I have a tendency to touch my face a lot, especially when I’ve been sweating, so keeping hands clean helps me from transferring germs from cash, gates, food, door handles, or armrests anywhere else. Especially if the concert is outdoors and your only bathroom option is an outhouse, you’ll be so glad you’ve thought ahead.

    4. Double Up on Deodorant

If you’re like me, someone who likes to be up close and personal with the show, you’re gonna be rubbing up against a lot of people… a lot of people who are sweating just as much as you are. Don’t add fuel to the fire— grab a super effective deodorant like the Degree MotionSense Deodorant, available at Northgate stores (my fave scent: Shower Clean). It goes on invisible, and is activated by motion to release freshness when you need it most… and for up to 48 hours! I apply it not only under my arms, but also under my boobs, on the back of my neck, and on my back. The wetness protection makes sure that sweat doesn’t accumulate in those spots while I’m dancing and jumping around, so I’m comfortable all night.

    5. Slather on the Sunscreen

Is the concert at an open-air venue? Don’t forget to work sunscreen into your beauty routine. Summer days are long, and the sun lasts until mid-evening, so don’t assume you’re safe from the rays if the show is at night. If you haven’t applied since morning (as you should be doing every day… *judging look*), do one more application before you leave for the night. I choose lightweight sunscreens with at least 15 SPF that can stand up through heat.

    6. Don’t Bother with a Big Bag

Get a small bag with a cross-body strap so you don’t have to worry about holding on to a big bag the whole time. Only carry the essentials with you so you’re not weighed down when you’re dancing in the crowd.
