AOA Halo Highlighters Review
I’ve been slowly getting through more discoveries from Shop Miss A, the online beauty dollar store. While I’ve had both hits and misses from the site, I would dare to say most of them have been pleasant surprises and products that I’ve genuinely worked into my regular beauty routine. This week, I took a dip into their new AOA Halo Highlighters, and I wasn’t disappointed!
As you might remember, I was a fan of the AOA Wonder Baked Highlighter that I tried in my first Shop Miss A Haul. The new AOA Halo Highlighters are very similar— they’re a baked vegan formula that can be applied both wet or dry for a gorgeous glow. I apply dry more often, but applying them wet will really bring out that strobing effect.
There are six shades in the Halo line with champagne, pink and golden sheens. Depending on your skin tone, you might even be able to get away with wearing a couple as a frosty blush.
Now, I typically get worried when trying out “baked” products that the formula will be dry. Though, I knew from my previous experience with AOA highlighters that this wouldn’t be the case. These baked highlighters are soft and apply smoothly. So soft, in fact, that you want to be a bit careful as kickback can occur in the compact. They go on very evenly— no patchiness at all— and pretty strong in just one swipe. I typically use a dense brush when I want a strong highlight, but using a fluffier brush will apply a more subtle glow.
The swatches above are in the following order left to right. Each highlighter is baked with 2-3 colors, but here’s what they result in when swirled together:
Blissful: a light rose gold champagne
Allure: classic champagne
Amore: frosty light pink
Desire: frosty pink with a slight lavender tone
Sunstone: golden glow
Love Lust: medium pink with a golden sheen
For $1— yes, you read right— the AOA Halo Highlighters are exceptional highlighters. They blend so easily and look great on top of any face makeup due to their versatility in application (dry or wet). If I’m going for a dewy effect with a punch, applying them wet on top of glowy liquid foundation is the way to go. For a more subtle look, applying dry over my normal face makeup does the job and really brings the look together!

Do these have visible sparkles or is it more of a shimmery/metallic/glow?
Those are surprisingly nice. I’ve never tried any of their cosmetics. I’ve bought some of their empty magnetic palettes, and those are pretty cute and good quality .
