Most Exciting New Drugstore Makeup & Beauty Releases for Spring 2020
Even though stores are closed and our routines are disrupted, it seems like new makeup releases have not slowed down in the least bit this season. I’m actually curious about how much makeup the average person is wearing during this time (even I am having more natural days than before). Either way, there are a ton of new drugstore makeup and beauty releases for April and May that have definitely caught my eye.
Keep reading to discover what I think are the most exciting new drugstore beauty launches this Spring so far.
Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers Neon Collection
Wet n Wild just released a massive new Fantasy Makers Neon Collection that looks like it was intended for festival season. With eyeshadow quads, highlighters, lip glosses, glitter gels, body gems, temporary tattoos and a whole lot more, this probably would have been a hit if festivals were actually happening right now. There’s an overall heavy lean into glitter but a good range of shades to fit every style. A big downfall that I’m seeing with the availability of this collection, aside from the timeliness of it all, is how difficult it is to find online. This is a Walmart-exclusive collection, which would typically entail its own in-store section. However, there is no dedicated page for all of these products on the Walmart website so it’s been hard to actually hunt them down and see everything at once. I finally found the page you can see all the products, which you can access here.
e.l.f. Sheer Slick Lipsticks
Something a little more my speed right about now: the new e.l.f. Sheer Slick Lipsticks look perfect for an easy, glossy lip with a punch of color. These lipsticks are glossy with a subtle wash of color to give you that juicy summer lip look that’s very trendy right now, inspired by K-Beauty. The cruelty-free and vegan formula features Meadowfoam Seed Oil, which has antioxidants that soften the skin.
I Heart Revolution Mini Tasty Avocado & Tasty Peach Palettes
I can’t get over the cuteness of the new additions to I Heart Revolution’s Tasty Avocado and Tasty Peach collection! They have a new mini-versions of the eyeshadow palettes, featuring eight shades each. Despite being a smaller size than the originals, you can get a few staple spring looks out of each one! I love the idea of grabbing mini palettes if you just want to try a trend without investing the money (and drawer space) on a whole palette. The best part is, there’s a good balance between mattes and shimmers in these small compacts, so you’ll definitely be able to get complete looks without juggling products.
ColourPop All Things Equinox & She’s Got Solstice Palettes & Celestial Blush
Would it be a new makeup roundup without something from ColourPop? I mean I rarely run into a ColourPop product I don’t like, but I gotta say… their rate of launching products does tend to overwhelm me! I can’t keep up! The latest from them include the All Things Equinox and She’s Got Solstice palettes, which are only $14 each exclusively at Ulta Beauty. The All Things Equinox has an overall rosy purple theme with some stellar bronze and champagne pops. She’s Got Solstice leans more earthy neutral with a couple peaches and a khaki green. I prefer the All Thing Equinox as it has a stronger color story. They also dropped two new blushes that look perfect for spring— the Celestial Blush comes in two shades: Interstellar (midtone pink) and Meteor, Rite? (nude terracotta).
Real Techniques Cashmere Dream Collection
Finally, we have a few new goodies from Real Techniques! The new Real Techniques Cashmere Dreams collection which aims to help you achieve soft definition in your application. There are six face brushes made with soft, fluffy synthetic bristles, plus an eye set with a bundle of six brushes and a bag. I’m particularly curious about the Cashmere Dreams Complexion Sponge Duo, and how they differ from the original Real Techniques Complexion Sponge which is a classic staple!
