August 2015 Boxycharm Review
Another month, another impressive Boxycharm. But the August 2015 Boxycharm wasn’t just any ol’ box, it was especially impressive as it was filled with products that I can incorporate into my every day routine.
The value was also up there this month– more than 5 and a half times the cost of the box. I know I’m always gushing about this subscription, but there’s a reason why it’s the only one I stuck with after my move. The products speak for themselves, take a look!
1. Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette (Retail $19.95)
Way to start out with a bang, am I right? Once again we got the full size Revealed palette, this time in its third iteration. You can see the swatches I did and my review of this palette when it first came out here. It’s the most colorful of the Revealed palettes, with a lot of purple and pink tones to brighten things up. However, it stays true to the Revealed roots with gorgeous neutrals.
2. Nios Shield Leave-In Conditioner (Retail $26)
This leave in conditioner incorporates something that many of us forget to give our hair: SPF! Yep, it’s just as important to protect your hair from the sun as your skin. You can read more about how to do that in this post, but this product is a great one to have on hand for sunny days. It offers frizz control and protection for your hair color and texture while moisturizing with argan oil, vitamin E and vitamin B5. It has a very light and flexible hold to contribute to your style, too!
3. MicaBeauty Gel Eyeliner (Retail $35)
I love that this came in the box for August, because I was just telling my friend how I need to start experimenting with gel liner again. The formula is very creamy and very black, great for dramatic liner looks. It also sets rather quickly; even this swatch that was only on for about 3 minutes left behind a mark after I wiped it off.
4. So Susan Statement Skin (Retail $20)
It’s the year of the highlight, ain’t it? This gorgeous crayon-style luminizer gives a champagne sheen that catches the light to brighten up your face. It’s easy to blend and can be used for the face and eyes. It has a chiseled shape, which lets you apply easily on large or small areas. I love it, and can’t get enough of cream highlighters!
5. Seta Eyeliner Brush (Retail $16)
Love how they included this super fine tipped eyeliner brush, which will work perfectly with the accompanying gel liner!
So it’s obvious why this month’s box is probably the best we’ve gotten in a while, right? None of these products will be shoved in the drawer of misfit samples… they’re sitting pretty on my desktop waiting to be used.
Boxycharm is only $21 a month and I’m always loving what they’re sending. Check them out on their website.
oh, I so so want that Revealed 3 palette, but I’m waiting for a sale. 🙂 What a great box. I think it’s going to be my next sub.
I was not impressed at all with the revealed palette … the colors are very similar to the second one but they are not pigmented at all. While they show great when you take a swipe with your finger once applied on a brush color does not show as well and does not last. I love Coastal Scents products but this one definitely disappointed.
Maybe it was just a bad batch I received I don’t know but sad it wasn’t a great palette for me….
Wow, that looks like a great box! And it’s a steal for $21, I may need to actually subscribe to this one!
Seriously, every time there are no duds!
I have been so impressed with every box I’ve seen from Boxycharm. Great stuff! I want it!
Go for it! It’s always completely worth it, money wise!
