5 Best Glowy Makeup Products from the Drugstore
My favorite makeup look for summer is a fresh, sun-kissed bronzy glow. It’s my go-to because it’s easy to achieve quickly, and makes my skin look so healthy and luminous. My latest Ulta haul was full of products to achieve the glowy drugstore makeup look I’ll be wearing non-stop this season.
1. Makeup Revolution Molten Body Glow Face & Body Liquid Illuminator ($17)
This isn’t so much of a tanner as much as it’s body makeup, but it creates a bronze glow wherever you apply it and can be wiped off at the end of the day without any staining to the skin. I’ve used the shade Warm Bronze several ways in my makeup routine, either by adding a couple drops to my foundation or blending it at the perimeters of my face. It also looks amazing brushed onto the legs or shoulders for an all over bronze to even out your skin tone or just look a little less pasty after quarantine. A little goes a long way, so start small and build up slowly.
2. L’Oreal Brilliant Eyes Liquid Eyeshadow ($11.99)
When I don’t want to do a full eyeshadow look, I love blending a single shimmery eyeshadow all over the lid for a quick pop of color. I’d previously been doing this with a couple Colourpop Super Shock Shadows, but wanted to try something new. I picked up two shades from the L’Oreal Brilliant Eyes Liquid Eyeshadow and am totally blown away! These are ultra pigmented and metallic eyeshadows that are easy to evenly blend over the lid. I grabbed the shades Precious Lava (gold) and Bronze Light (dark bronze) and have been wearing them non stop for a bit of shimmer and dimension that takes me less than a minute!
3. ColourPop Lite Stix ($8)
I’m a sucker for cream highlight, and the ColourPop Lite Stix in Acting Up did not disappoint. It’s a frosty peach that looks amazing on medium to deep skin tones, and can be used as a highlighting blush on lighter skin shades. It’s creamy and blends out really smoothly. What I love is that you get a beautiful sheen and while it definitely has shimmer in it, it’s fine and doesn’t look glittery.
4. Ulta Beauty Baked Sculpt & Glow 3-in-1 Palette ($15)
I’ll be honest, sometimes I forget about how great the products are from Ulta’s in-house brand. The Ulta Beauty Baked Sculpt & Glow 3-in-1 Palette had me super impressed. The compact includes a shimmer bronzer, blush and highlight that can either be used dry or wet depending on if you want a subtle or bold look. I do really wish that this came with a matte bronzer, which could create more definition for contouring, but this one ,in the shade Hawaiian Sunrise, is good for adding warmth to the face. The powder formula is very soft— not chalky at all— and infused with Safflower Seed Oil, Ginseng Root Extract, and Aloe Leaf Extract to moisturize the skin!
5. Ulta Beauty Tinted Juice Infused Lip Oil ($9)
Finally, I gotta shout out the Ulta Beauty Tinted Juice Infused Lip Oil. I have loved using lip oils recently since mine have been chapped. Not only can I get a gorgeous wash of color with this product, but also a nourished and hydrated feel. The formula contains a blend of Coconut, Marula, Organ, Macadamia and Cranberry oils plus Vitamin E that keep the lips super smooth and hydrated. It’s a vegan lip oil with a natural orange fragrance that is light and pleasant. Coral Punch is my perfect summer pink, and makes my lips look so juicy and plump!
