Vegan & Affordable Curly Hair Products from Sky Organics
This post was sponsored by Sky Organics as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
One of my beauty goals this year is to perfect my wavy/curly hair routine. I really want to get to a point where I feel confident styling and wearing my natural waves. I’ve been testing several different products and techniques to see what works best with my hair texture, and as always, my goal is to curate a routine using budget friendly curly hair products.
I was recently introduced to the Sky Organics Curl Care line, an affordable collection of haircare products available at select Walmart stores, which stood out to me for several reasons. They are certified USDA Bio-Based, which means that their collection uses a significant amount of plant-derived and renewable ingredients — something not so common from budget brands — on top of being cruelty-free and vegan. They use ingredients (including organic ones!) that focus on moisturizing and protecting curls for healthier looking hair. Also, a portion of the proceeds from the line is donated to the Black Women’s Health Imperative, which is a non-profit that helps Black women and girls access health and wellness resources.
When it comes to defined and healthy-looking curls and waves, we all know it starts with the shampoo and conditioner. I’ve definitely been more conscious of my wash products, especially avoiding harsh ingredients like sulfates. The Sky Organics Curl Care Wash Day Shampoo is sulfate-free, and also made without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or dyes. This shampoo does an excellent job gently cleansing my hair and scalp of dirt and product buildup without leaving it stripped of its natural oils.
Following up with the Sky Organics Curl Care Detangling Conditioner, which helps add moisture and shine with organic castor and coconut oils. It’s a nice rich texture which I prefer for my thick hair, yet it slips through the hair really easily to detangle and smooth my strands. I like to leave it in my hair for a little over five minutes as I shave my legs or wash my body, really letting it sink in. When I rinse, my hair has pretty much detangled itself, though I may run a wide tooth comb through it for a good once over.
As I’ve been learning more about styling curls and waves, I know that what you use after washing is just as important when it comes to the definition and overall end result. Using a curl cream has become essential in my routine to help boost moisture and bring out the shape of my natural hair. The Sky Organics Curl Care Bouncy Curl Cream is one of my favorites I’ve tried so far— the consistency is just right where a little goes a long way but it’s easy to work into the hair. It also has a really refreshing natural fragrance that’s a little tropical!
I typically work the Curl Cream into my still-wet hair using the praying hands method, then scrunch to help form my waves. Then, I plop using a microfiber turban and let it absorb excess water for about 30 minutes before I either air-dry the rest or diffuse it with a blow dryer.
This was the first time I’ve used a designated curl care system, with products designed to work together, and wow! This line also includes a Treatment Mask, made with mango butter and rice protein to help with moisture and breakage— great for my previously bleached and color treated hair. In fact, the entire Sky Organics Curl Care line is safe for color treated hair! It really is a unicorn, checking so many boxes to fit the needs and preferences of so many curly girls.
Not only is the Sky Organics Curl Care line affordable as is, but there is an active Ibotta offer for cash back on all of the products I mentioned! If you’re unfamiliar, Ibotta is an app that lets you earn cash back at your favorite stores. You just upload your receipts and get money back in your pocket! I have a post explaining how Ibotta works here.

I exclusively use organic cosmetics. I am not familiar with this brand yet. But judging by your feedback, it is worth adding to my collection of shampoos.
Omg… sounds dreamy! Will have to check this brand out…. surprisingly I (coincidentally) received a sample of Neutrogena T/gel and T/sal and boy does this work…. I bought a scalp massager and that has almost 1000% cleared my scalp psoriasis/dandruff….I rotate in/out: Paul Mitchell tea tree and Moroccan oil lines, leaf and flower CBD (which seemed to cause a flare up? Not sure… still going to do some more “tests” to see as their product otherwise is awesome), Dermarest is good also as well as a diluted ACV rinse. I am so curious to try this (sky organics) as well as the other one you recently did an article on…Thank you!!!
I loveeee using ACV rinses for in between washes if I am feeling sweaty from a workout but don’t want to do a full wash!
