NEW Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review
Nearly eight years after the best-selling Urban Decay Naked 3 palette was launched, the brand just released the Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette with six brand new shades based on the original’s rosy-neutral theme.
As with their typical mini Naked palettes, the Naked 3 Mini palette is half the size of the original Naked 3 Palette, and a great way to add the essence of one of the most popular eyeshadow palettes to your collection without shelling out the big bucks. The mini palette is only $29 (compared to the original’s $54 price tag) and despite being small, offers a solid handful of staple looks from soft to bold.
I often get asked about cool toned eyeshadow palettes, since the past few years have been filled with warm neutrals taking over the beauty scene. I’ll admit— I thought these shades were going to look ashy on me as I have a slight yellow undertone to my skin… and cool shades can be tricky. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they’re actually really flattering, and the color stays true to pan even when you blend them.
I’ve always been a fan of the Urban Decay eyeshadow formula, and these are on par with what I expected: soft, easy to load on a brush, applies with rich color payoff, super blendable, and easy to work with. You know you have a good shadow when your look comes out exactly like how you imagined in your head. Above, I’ve swatched all of the shades dry and without primer, though applying the shimmer shades wet will give you a more intense metallic finish.
The only downside to this palette is the common plight of soft, pigmented shadow: you can get quite a lot of kick-up in the pan from dipping your brush in, which can also translate to fallout when applying. Remedy this by going in softly with your brush, and using patting motions to pack on the shadow before blending it out.

I was pretty impressed with the versatility of this palette, even with only six shades. I tend to go for more middle-of-the-road looks utilizing both lighter and deeper shades, though I can clearly see the potential for super smokey looks or even a simple all-over wash of color using a single shade. Above are two of the first looks I created using the palette, showing different makeup vibes.
Urban Decay did a great job curating these shades to really give you a ton of possibilities. The Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette is perfect for day-to-night looks, and something I can definitely see myself traveling with as it keeps my makeup bag light without sacrificing look options for various occasions. It’s also sturdy with a hard shell that snaps shut, and a full size mirror inside making it a convenient choice for on-the-go. And as always, this is a cruelty free eyeshadow palette as with the rest of the brand’s makeup.
You can find the Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette for $29 on the brand’s website.
