Ulta Beauty Prismatic Eye Shadow Palette Review
As many affordable brands are putting out their first full-size eyeshadow palettes, Ulta Beauty is already on their fourth! The new Ulta Beauty Prismatic Eye Shadow Palette is the latest addition to the store-brandโs line, which started with the Gilded Gold and Rose Gold palettes around this time last year.
The Ulta Beauty Prismatic Eye Shadow Palette has twelve brand new shades that range from light pastels to bold, deeper colors. You also get a full-size eye shadow brush that actually applies shadow well (Thank you, Ulta Beauty, for no sponge applicators). I love that they combined neutrals with more colorful options, which lets me create a ton of different looks and even go from day to night.
The shades are:
Otherworldly: light white shimmer
Beauty: medium mauve with slight shimmer
Bliss: medium violet shimmer
Peak: medium mauvy brown shimmer
Destination: medium cool brown shimmer
Reflection: deep black glitter
Luminous: light grey shimmer
Crystal: light blue green shimmer
Earthly: medium blue green shimmer
Believe: medium blue shimmer
Radiance: medium gold shimmer
Presence: medium brown shimmer
Out of all previous Ulta Beauty palettes, I felt like these shadows were the most sheer, although they are buildable. Earthly and Believe were definitely the stars of the palette with the most pigmentation on one swipe. I found that laying the shadow on top of a creamy base really helped these shadows not only stand out, but also stay put much better than on their own or over a normal primer.
While all of these shades are shimmery, a couple of them are spray-over finishes. Beauty and Bliss are pretty much matte after about a month of use, which Iโm actually happy about because I can use them as transition and blending shades. Iโm pretty sure everyone knows by now how much I neeeeeed mattes in my shadow looks, but for a shimmery palette, this one is pretty nice.
For the look above, I used the Rimmel Scandalize Eye Shadow Stick in Witness White (an opaque shimmery white) as a base. I blended Earthy into my crease and packed Believe onto my lid (with a bit on the lower lash line). Radiance is in my inner corner to brighten up the look, and I popped Otherworldly under the brow as a highlight. I used the Milani Kohl Kajal liner on my upper waterline and lash line, and blended it out with a definer brush to make it a little smoky. The white base really helped the shadows pop, and the look lasted a whole 9 hours without fading!
Because this palette is a nice balance between neutral and vibrant, itโs been helping me step out of my comfort zone and work bright colors into my look without being too daunting. Just like with the other Ulta Beauty palettes, the Prismatic Eye Shadow palette is only $20 and is now available in stores and online!
Thanks for doing a review of this palette! I have rose gold and gilded gold and was on the fence on this one. Think I’ll pick it up now- OH! And it is going to be only $12 on March 18, 25 & April 1 during ULTA 21 days of deals!! Mark your calendars, ladies!
Ooo thanks for the heads up!! Yeah, at $12 this is a no brainer!
This is such a pretty look on you!
The eye loo you created is so pretty! I absolutely loved it when you featured it on Snapchat
Love your eye look–really gorgeous!
Girl! That is not your mother’s blue eye shadow look.
I can not resist a bright blue eye look! I picked up this palette, but haven’t used it yet. Time to try it!
I love that you can always find Ulta on sale. One of my most used palettes is their Rose Gold one. This looks very springy.
Love the look you created!
I haven’t seen these in person yet, looks pretty!
Wow, those blues look great with your brown eyes. Striking! I have the Japonesque Prismatic palette and it’s fun to wear shades with pizzazz for a change
Definitely not the same boring colors again, nice!
Exactly! I’m getting a wee bit tired of EVERYONE putting out the same nudes palette. This one is definitely unique.
Those blues are perfect for you. Beautiful!
Thanks lady ๐ I’ll definitely be wearing them often.
I absolutely adore this eye look. You are rocking the blues!
Thanks, Margo! Blues are my favorite to play up brown eyes ๐
