You may remember a similar kit from last year, but it’s been completely made over with a new eyeshadow palette and lip gloss shade to help you create the trendiest looks this season. Inside the Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice set, you’ll find a 16-shade eyeshadow palette, a full size tube of Better Than Sex Mascara, a tube of Pumpkin Spice Ultra Plush Lipgloss, and a Teddy Bear Hair eyeshadow brush. The common scent throughout these products is, of course, pumpkin spice… though not super overwhelming.

First, let’s take a closer look at the eyeshadow palette which is the hero product of the group. I am way more into this year’s color scheme, which I think channels the “pumpkin” in pumpkin spice better than the 2018 version. Aside from staple neutrals, we get some pale, burnt and vibrant oranges, cranberries and plums, as well as golds and even a green duochrome. While it is a perfect fall palette, I could see myself getting year-round use out of this as they are the types of shades I gravitate toward regularly, and the range of tones really opens the door to a ton of different looks.

Too Faced consistently makes my favorite high-end eyeshadows, and this palette did not let me down. They’re one of those brands who don’t sacrifice quality when they come out with a super-trendy, limited edition product. These shadows are super silky, apply highly pigmented, and blend out easily. The shades translate on the skin exactly how they look in the pan, so it’s easy to create looks and get exactly what you want. Some of the glitter shades do apply more opaque with a wet brush, but you will still get even application with dry bristles which I appreciate.

Speaking of brushes, this set comes with a super soft flat brush that both packs on color and blends it out seamlessly. It’s a little too flexible for the shimmer shades, but works so well with the mattes for a diffused look.

Something I’ve come to expect from most Too Faced makeup sets: a tube of Better Than Sex Mascara— and I’m not complaining! Yes, this mascara is all it’s cracked up to be and more. However, I have figured out a few hacks to making it work to its full potential. First of all: you need to wipe off the extra product that comes out on the brush. It will always be too much pulled straight from the tube. Second: I do a few sipes on each eye’s upper lashes before going back in to do multiple coats. This ensures that there is an even amount of product on both eyes. Once you get the hang of it, this mascara seriously lengthens, thickens, and lifts for dramatic va-va-voom lashes.

Finally, we have the exclusive PSL shade in the Ultra Plush Lip Gloss formula. This gloss is balmy, not sticky, and this shade is a pale medium peach with gold shimmer. I’d consider this a more “grown up” glitter gloss, because it definitely adds sparkle but without looking like play makeup. The pumpkin spice scent was the strongest in the lip gloss, but it’s soooo yummy. I’ve always liked fall scents, and this one is perfect. Just sweet enough but not overpowering.
