Drugstore Organic Makeup Routine for Dewy Skin
Sponsored by Physicians Formula. All opinions (and glow!) my own.
There’s something about dewy skin that gives the appearance of a fresh, healthy and bouncy face— do you agree? Especially in the fall and winter, when the weather tends to suck the life out of our complexion, dewy makeup can help restore a lively glow.
Recently, I’ve been dabbling in organic makeup and found some new staples to achieve the dewy skin look. I’ll admit, I was always a bit skeptical of organic and clean beauty. In the past, choosing clean formulas meant sacrificing performance. That’s not the case with the new Physicians Formula Organic Wear makeup, available at Walmart. This launch features products formulated with nourishing and conditioning ingredients that are good for your skin, hypoallergenic, fragrance free and cruelty free.

While I don’t typically wear face primer on a day to day basis, a moisturizing primer can help makeup sit more smoothly on top of dry skin. The new Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mineral Primer is designed to hydrate and balance the skin with organic aloe vera, organic jojoba oil and botanical cactus flower. It’s a thick and tacky silicone-free formula that feels like a rich moisturizer (so a little goes a long way!) that makes my skin look instantly plumper.
My new favorite drugstore dewy foundation seriously delivers a healthy glow. The Physicians Formula Organic Wear Silk Foundation Elixir uses organic jojoba oil to soothe the skin and reduce the appearance of redness. Unlike the primer, it’s a very thin and liquidy formula that comes in a glass bottle with a squeeze dropper top. While it’s supposed to deliver “sheer-to-buildable” coverage, I find it going on with medium coverage that’s bailable from there— which I appreciate!
This foundation really blew me away. Not only does it give you a fresh radiance, but it helps smooth over skin texture and tone for a truly flawless base. Throughout the day, the coverage stays intact and the smooth finish persists. I only experienced breakdown around my nose, which is the oiliest area on my face.
I’m a huge fan of makeup sticks for the ease of application and typically long-wear, creamy formula. There are two in the new collection that make me look naturally sculpted and beaming. The Physicians Formula Organic Wear Sculpting Bronzer glides on easily and is loaded with hydrating antioxidants to condition the skin as you wear it. What really impressed me was how easy it is to blend out! I use a flat top kabuki brush to buff it into my skin and it was seamless in sixty seconds
The Physicians Formula Organic Wear Dewy Highlighter is what I’ve been using the most, even when I don’t do the entire routine. It works great paired with even my most matte foundations to bring that juicy look to my skin. It creates that stroby (not sparkly) reflection that catches the light beautifully.
Finally, one of my favorites out of the bunch: the Physicians Formula Organic Wear Dewy Blush Elixir. This is another one that is helping me get the dewy makeup look even when my combo skin can’t handle all these products at once. It’s a thin cream blush that blends easily with just the fingers for a soft flush of color that can either be worn sheer or strong. The organic superfruits in the formula help deliver anti-aging and revitalizing effects!
I’d like to put this out there: I have combo skin which turns very dry (and even patchy) during the colder months, and I would only use these products when my skin is feeling dry. I wouldn’t recommend these choices for oily skin, since there is such a heavy oil presence in the ingredients lists. For normal skin, you may need to set in the T-Zone if you experience shine throughout the day.
Alternatively, those with normal or combo skin could incorporate 1-2 of these products at once with matte makeup for a balanced complexion. Either way, these products are going to help me achieve a healthy dewy skin appearance when it’s feeling anything but that during the next few months!
Hello!
In the picture what lipstick are you wearing?
Thank you
Hi Mary! That’s actually my natural lip shade, I only had balm on in the photo!
Oh my I really want the blush . Looks like something my combo-dry skin would love since I don’t wear foundation really at all since I feel like it makes my skin look and feel odd most times
It’s one of my most loved items in this collection right now, that the weather is chilly and dry!
I cant seem to find the shade names of the ones you used! you look amazing!
The highlighter is in Dew Frost and contour is in Mocha! The blush is Crushed Berries 🙂
Due to my dry skin I love wearing dewy makeup all the time. I’m especially interested in that foundation elixir!
I love dewy makeup. I like glowing skin even more without makeup
Your makeup looks very beautiful and dewy!
Which foundation shade did you use? Thanks!
Hi Isa, the foundation I talked about in the post is what I used 🙂
I would like to know the shade color she used too we have similar skin tones and i want to wing it and order it online!
I used Medium-to-Tan here! It’s slightly dark for me, but the Medium shade was really yellow on me.
