December 2014 Glossybox Review
Because of the holidays, I’m a little behind on my beauty subscription unboxings. I had a fantastic holiday spent with loved ones and awesome friends, and honestly just felt like being lazy for once. But before the month is officially over, I had to squeeze in the December 2014 Glossybox.
You could tell that a lot of thought went into this month’s box— from the festive packaging to the actual products inside. The contents are all things that are very winter-appropriate and that I can see myself using rather frequently over the next few months.
1. Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche de Beaute (Full Size, Retail: 32)
Moisture is a must during winter, and I know my skin has been showing a few signs of dryness lately. This repairing masque is supposed to provide your skin up to 24 hours of hydration, so you can kick winter skin to the curb. It’s made with eight plant milks and aloe vera sap to soothe irritations. I’m using this ASAP to relieve my skin of the redness and dryness that the wind has been dealing me.
2. Rituals Cosmetics Miracle Scrub in Ginseng & Ginko Biloba (Full Size, Retail: $17)
This scrub is designed to keep your hands ultra smooth and soft this season. I’m super compulsive about having moisturized hands at all times, it’s a bit of an obsession. I constantly apply hand cream throughout the day, but this will really help in getting rid of the dry skin clinging on. It has natural exfoliants and nourishing oils that will leave your hands rejuvenated and healthy.
3. Toni&Guy Leave In Conditioner (Full Size, Retail: $16.99)
My hair goes crazy during winter— between the dry weather, the chill and wind, the frizz factory is fully functioning. Leave In Conditioner is imperative to getting my hair to calm down while looking and feeling healthy. This product has a thinner consistency that’s good for every day use without building up. It smells delicious and helps make hair more manageable when used as a prep step or a finishing touch on winter hairdos.
4. Ciate Mini Paint Pot in All Aglow (Full Size, Retail: $8)
Sparkly nail polish is the best accessory this season. This festive shade in All Aglow is chalk full of gold glitter with tiny red accents in a clear base. It looks great on top of other polishes, or on its own for a manicure that will catch anybody’s eye.
5. Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Burlesque (Full Size, Retail: $19.99)
My Bellapierre collection grows with each subscription box I get. But, I cannot complain because their makeup always delivers great color and quality. This is the first time I get to try one of their mineral lipsticks, which offers smooth and pigmented application. The shade Burlesque is a beautiful mid-toned berry that is a great transition color from winter to spring trends.
I can hands down say this was a box worthy of the most wonderful time of the year. I mean, we got all full sized products for crying out loud! Although I thought that the Glossybox Limited Edition Gift Box (sold separately) was amazing, this is a seriously close second. It’s the first time that I’ve gotten all full sizes from Glossybox in a normal monthly box and they are all extremely useful picks for winter. The value checks in at around $95. What a nice gift!
