7 Drugstore Lipsticks for Summer You’ll Love Showing Off
This is the summer of lipstick, people! With mask mandates relaxing locally, I’m so excited to be able to show off my favorite drugstore lipsticks for summer. I love bright and bold shades this time of year, but also appreciate a muted moment or a comfortable balmy formula for more fresh faced looks.
Keep scrolling to see my picks for the best drugstore lipsticks for summer, and please share your own in the comments!
1. Ulta Tinted Juice Infused Lip Oil – Coral Punch ($9)
Starting off subtle, this is my favorite glossy product that gives a wash of color to the lips. This vegan lip oil is infused with coconut, macula, Argan, macadamia, and cranberry oils plus vitamin E to prevent moisture loss in the lips, and it feels so hydrating on the lips. Being as that it’s a lip oil versus traditional lip gloss, it has a slick feel that’s lightweight and non-sticky. Coral Punch is a sheer coral with fine shimmer to it.
2. NYX Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Balm – Besos ($8)
This is not your typical tinted lip balm! As you can see, this balm packs a ton of pigment, and also helps plump and hydrate your lips with ginger and hyaluronic acid. There is a tingling sensation right after you apply, but it doesn’t burn. The finish is shiny, and the color actually sticks around well if you’re not eating or drinking. Otherwise, re-application will be necessary throughout the day. Besos is a warm coral.
3. Milani Ludicrous Matte Lip Crayon – V Cute ($8.99)
This is such an underrated drugstore lipstick with an amazing formula! The Milani Ludicrous Matte Lip Crayon gives you a classic matte finish without the matte feeling. With shea butter, Argan, Jojoba, and avocado oils in the formula, it glides on smoothly and doesn’t feel drying. It’s super pigmented and the color will leave a pretty strong stain behind. While it’s not entirely tqransferproof, it doesn’t feather or bleed, and the stain makes fading more even. V Cute is a deep, rich magenta that would look great on darker skin tones or as a night-out lipstick.
4. Revlon Super Lustrous The Luscious Matte Lipstick – Fire & Ice ($8.49)
A classic shade in an upgraded formula, Fire & Ice is an iconic blue-toned red that is a staple year-round, but especially for summer. The Luscious Matte formula is comfortable, more of a satin-matte, and has a thin balmy feel that you can hardly feel once it sets. You get high impact color in one swipe with no tugging or skipping. Check out my post where I swatch more shades from the Revlon Super Lustrous The Luscious Matte collection.
5. ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip – Bumble ($8)
If you’re looking for long lasting color, this is your pick— but beware! The Colour Pop ultra Matte Lip formula is… well, ultra matte and can feel dry a few hours into wear. However, it’s pretty transferproof and will most likely last you all day unless you’re eating something super greasy. Bumble is my favorite shade from this line, being a unique mix of brick red and pink.
6. wet n wild Mega Last High-Shine Lip Color – Pinky Ring ($2.99)
This is probably my favorite drugstore lipstick right now, and you can’t beat the price! The High-Shine lipstick has buildable pigment, though will remain looking glassy and translucent. This glossy formula won’t feather or bleed but isn’t totally smudge proof. Pinky Ring is a fun candy pink. Check out my post where I swatch the entire wet n wild Mega Last High Shine collection.
7. Pop Beauty Permanent Pout – Butter Babe ($7.99)
Finally, here’s another long lasting matte for those who want to apply their color and forget about it! The Permanent Pout gives you a flat matte look that will stay in place. The consistency is thin, so it’s not heavy on the lips but it may feel drying if you don’t prep them. Butter Babe is a pastel orange-leaning coral.
About Ulta Tinted – Liked the tinted lip oils. Nice color. Not sticky. Moistures lip. Tinted lip oil is thicker than the non-tinted oil( which container leaked) and it did not leak. I like it with the lip liner in color Allure.
