How to Save on Beauty with Walgreens Paperless Coupons

You know those people who have spending problems, who go shopping with the mentality that money is of no concern? Well, I’m pretty much the exact opposite— I have a saving problem. I can’t spend money on myself without feeling guilty. In the future, I’m going to have thousands of dollars in student loans to pay back, and I’ll need to find a way to financially support myself once I graduate instead of leaning on my mom. With these things in mind, picking up beauty products to incorporate into my blog posts and videos can sometimes be an internal struggle for me. What makes it easier is to always shop sales or to clip coupons.
But alas, who actually remembers to bring coupons to the store? I always tuck them into my wallet, but they usually get tossed before I get around to using them. So when Walgreens launched their paperless coupons section in the store’s mobile app, I was pretty excited.

Once you connect your Balance Rewards account to the app, you can browse through a bunch of digital manufacturer coupons that you may virtually “clip” to your card. They are automatically linked to your account, so once you check out with your membership card, they will apply to the transaction. Forgot your card? No worries, you can scan it from the app, too. Man, does this app know my life.
Oh, how I love seeing those yellow tags. The best part about the paperless coupons: you can combine them with the in-store sales. That’s exactly what I did! Check out what I picked up and how much I saved. Consider this a sneak peek into what might be featured on the blog later.
- CoverGirl Clump Crusher Extensions: Originally $8.79; On Sale for $6.99 – $3 off eCoupon
- L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara: $8.99 – $2 off eCoupon
- Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner: $7.99 – $1 off eCoupon
Consider my spending guilt eased. Check out the app, it’s definitely worth the download if you want to save even more money on affordable makeup!
Shopping apps are the greatest thing. I love to surf the deals at night and add them to my card because when I shop, I won’t remember.
This is a great app. And I’m the same way…major saver!
I need to utilize my app more because dang it… I keep paying full price… errrr
Ye but Miranda, how do I save on cosmetics with the Walgreens app if I have to pay $2000 to fly to my nearest Walgreens? THINK, WOMAN! Seriously though, I’m totally bookmarking this for when I’m back in the USA.
bwahahaha – I can’t help but laugh… sorry – I totally get you Kimmi and understand your pain 😉
Cool app! I am the same way, I graduated college 5 years ago and am still paying off the loans- a minimum of $350 a month! My goal is to pay them off in the next 2 years.
I need this app!!! I was like you when I was in college; money was tight so I have to live within my means.
I need that app
I love the idea behind this app, much like Target’s Cartwheel.
Great app, I always forget my coupons on the kitchen counter.
love that app! so totally need it
I’m about to download this app NOW!
I shop at Walgreens all the time and totes forgot they had an app.
I need that app! I shop at Walgreens for sure.
Yay, I love saving money on makeup! Thanks for sharing, I had no idea Walgreens had these online coupons.
Thanks for sharing this! I’m definitley gonna have to use the app as I go here all the time.
I do love to save money!!
I use a similar program at Target – Cartwheel. Saves me money even when I forget to bring my coupons.. though I wish it just worked automatically instead of making me scan or search. I’m excited to have something similar for Walgreens! One of the cosmetics cashiers told me to also ask her for coupons, too – she clips a lot of them and has them for customers to use. Love saving money on pretties!
I wish we had this kind of coupons here where I live.
Awesome! Def getting this app!
Wow, fantastic savings when you combine the sales with coupons! I need to grab the app.
I go this with CVS and it’s great!
Oh that’s awesome, I definitely hate dealing with paper coupons so the app sounds like the way to go!
I need to connect my account to be able to use the paperless coupons. That’s definitely the way to go for me. Now, I just need to find my membership card that I got while on a biz trip to Houston last year. I always have to use the payment screen to look up the number. It’s worth it, however, to sort it out!
Yes! Or you could use your number to look up your account online and from then on, just use your phone as your card! That’s what I do!
Miranda, that’s what I’ve been doing. Can I still link my account to get the paperless coupons? I’ve done that with my CVS card that’s on my key chain, but I didn’t know I could somehow manage it with Walgreens. No one at the stores has been too helpful with telling me what to do. I don’t get anything from them via email, but I do have the W phone app
What I did is, I created an online login through Walgreens.com that is hooked up to my card (it prompts you for your phone number and asks to verify your info) and then use that login on the Walgreens app. That will hook up the digital coupons to your card!
Thank you. I will try it again right now. That’s probably it: I never created an online login.
Such a cool app! I need this for sure. 🙂
I had the walgreen’s app on my phone, but deleted it. It sounds like I need to add it back.
