Glowy Skin Must Have: Covergirl Clean Fresh Cream Blush Review
Shortly following Covergirl’s recently obtained cruelty-free status, they’ve launched a completely vegan makeup line for 2020: the Clean Fresh collection. This “clean” makeup is formulated without formaldehyde, sulfates, parabens, talc, phthalates or fragrance, and uses good-for-your skin ingredient such as coconut milk and aloe. One of the stand-out products in this collection that has really impressed me is the Clean Fresh Cream Blush, which I’ve been wearing nonstop since receiving a couple weeks ago.
I’ve been totally off the matte wagon for several months now, leaning toward products that make my skin look and feel healthy with noticeable glow. Cream products have definitely helped me achieve that, and I love that they’re typically versatile enough for both dramatic and natural looks. The same can be said of the Covergirl Clean Fresh Cream Blushes. There are four in the original launch that are incredibly pigmented, buildable, and downright beautiful!
Infused with hyaluronic acid, these hydrate as you wear them while delivering a plumped up and glowy dose of color. You seriously only need a dab of product, because these pack a punch. The half-ounce the will probably last you several months without issue, even with daily use.
Even though they have strong color payoff, they’re easy to blend out for a more sheer appearance. In the above photo, you can see the product fresh out of the tube, then blended out for a more realistic look. The best way I’ve found to apply these is to squeeze product out on the back of the hand, and start swirling with a stippling brush, then adding to the face lightly. From there, you can build up the color depending on what look you’re going for.
Surprisingly, even when this cream blush is sheered out, it stays looking beautifully blended for 6+ hours without any breakdown or fading at all. It also creates such a smooth looking skin texture, and maintains a radiance that may even have you skipping the highlight step in your routine!
I honestly have not one bad thing to say about these blushes. They’re a new staple in my routine whether I want dramatic statement blush or a compliment to my no-makeup makeup look. I truly hope this collection does well for them so that they expand the shade ranges!
