Thailand Beauty Haul: Makeup & Skin Care
I am back, ya’ll! After two adventurous weeks in Thailand on my honeymoon, I’m back with a lot to share! As for the actual trip, I definitely want to tell you all about my favorite experiences and show you the photos. But first, I just had to show off some of the beauty products from Thailand I brought home with me!
You better believe that I was keeping my eye out for beauty shelves in all the shops we visited. One of the familiar brands I spotted was Maybelline, but with products that are specific to Asia— like this All In One CC White Cream. That introduced me to the theme of most of the beauty products in Thailand… whitening. They’re definitely all about the bright and clear complexion, which is evident when you take a look at the beauty aisle.
There aren’t a lot of heavy products for the face— mostly BB/CC/DD creams and powders and tints. The women tend to go for a fresh-faced look, playing up the size of the eyes with liner and focusing the color on the lips only. You don’t see a lot of intricate eyeshadow looks at all.
Before I left the country, I had to pick up some of the most interesting products I found in their most popular “drugstore”… 7-11.
Watch the video above for a closer look at what I brought home!
As for makeup, I picked up the products I felt would work best for me. There was a lot that I know wouldn’t be compatible with my skin tone, since they focus on a light complexion. Here’s what I did find.
VTint Lip & Cheek Tint in Pink | A super pigmented rollerball tint for the cheeks and lips.
USTAR Plump Up Soft Matte Lipstick Cream | I was super surprised by how creamy, smooth and pigmented this applied! Plus, even with a flat matte finish, it wasn’t drying at all.
Julia’s Herb DD Cream Watermelon SPF 50 | DD Cream is apparently just sunscreen? But this adds a bit of radiance with its protection!
Disney x USTAR Minnie Max Black Eyeliner | Not my favorite formula. It’s inky and very black, but it flakes if you try to layer it.
Natriv BB Aloe Snail Powder | This is a lightly pigmented powder that smooths lines and sets makeup. The aloe and snail serum makes it super soft.
The beauty aisles were heavily skincare focused, so I brought home a lot of cool stuff.
Phutawan Magic Cocoon Facial Soap | You can slip these over you fingers and rub over your face, and it dissolves as it cleanses.
Ramayana Ruby Moisturizing Mask | While actually a Korean product, this particular one is a Thailand Exclusive and has a face on it! How could I resist?
Le’ Skin Milk Facial Mask | Again, not a lot of English on this one but it contains milk protein so hopefully it feels nourishing.
Bangkok Health Group BK Acne Mask | This one had no English on the packaging, so I hope it works!
NAVU Snail White Mask Shot | This was one of the most popular products I kept seeing over and over again in Thailand, so I had to bring it home. Snail seemed to be a really popular ingredient… are they on to something?
Beauty Buffet Whitening Milk Bath Cream Co-Enzyme Q10 | This was another heavily advertised brand, so I wanted to pick something up! I originally thought this was a product meant to be poured in the bathwater, but it’s actually just body wash.
