Trending in Beauty: Hues of Blue
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sally Beauty. All opinions are 100% mine.
When Fall comes rolling in, so do the jewel tone trends! One of my favorites to work with: blue. Blue is an incredible versatile color (think: jeans!) and can be easily incorporated into your beauty routine. That’s why Sally Beauty is celebrating Hues of Blue with their Fall Color Sale Under $10!
I have to admit, I’ve been finding myself shopping at Sally Beauty more and more. Not only because I live across the street from one, but they’ve got such great brands, big and small, with affordable products to choose from. I’ve actually stopped there before the drugstore at times because I know I can get better deals on the same product.
I recently discovered the brand Bitzy in the store, and was super excited to create a custom compact. The prices are crazy affordable for the magnetic compact itself as well as the shadow pans! Plus, when I bought three shadow pans, I got one for free. SCORE! The shadows themselves are sheer but buildable, and I got these cool shades, plus a deep blue called Stroke of Midnight for a moody smoky eye.
I also picked up an old favorite, the Palladio Liquid Eyeliner in Midnight, since a swipe of blue eyeliner is just about the easiest way to add a little bit of color to your makeup look while still being very wearable. Blue is a great liner color when you have brown eyes, as well, since the cool versus warm tones make your eyes really stand out. You can see the subtle difference in how my eyes glow above in the before/after.
Another awesome way to wear blue this fall: nail polish. I could not resist this rich dark blue from Finger Paints called Magritte’s Masterpiece. It really makes your nails stand out and adds an on-trend flare to your outfit. Don’t forget a base coat like Seche to avoid staining!
Adding a touch of blue can totally mean packaging, right? Well the Silk Elements Pure Oils Hair Butter should make its way into your routine either way, because this balmy moisturizer is perfect for parched hair. My hair always tends to get extra dry as the whether turns windy and chilly, so this will help style and seal in moisture.

It’s nice to see the blues. I’m suffering from NFS (Neutrals Fatigue Syndrome). That nail polish is beautiful.
I was just at Sally’s getting stuff to get my State Board Kit for Cosmetology School ready and I ALMOST picked up the finger nail polish! They only had one bottle though and it was obvious it had been used multiple times.
It’s SOOO gorgeous, I’m wearing it nonstop!
Love a bit of blue on the eyes!
Me too!
