10 Minute All-Day Summer Makeup Tutorial

I always find myself at a crossroads when doing my makeup during summer. Usually, my schedule is jam packed and I want to get out the door quickly. I also want enough makeup on to feel put together and like myself, though.

If you’ve been keeping up with me here on the blog, you know that I’ve been collecting a few new go-tos in my collection from COVERGIRL. These have been essential in helping me create a 10 minute summer makeup look that lasts all day and is perfect for all sorts of activities and plans. Plus, while I feel polished, these products don’t make me feel weighed down.

This summer makeup look takes me just 10 minutes to complete, but will look great for hours through my busy social calendar. Keep reading for the step-by-step pictures and why I’ve been turning to these products so much!

1. Lay Down a Transfer-Resistant Foundation

Ain’t nobody got time for foundation that’s going to melt off during summer days. I’ve been using the COVERGIRL TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation a ton recently with the hot weather we’re getting in Vegas. It lasts up to 12 hours and works to control oil, minimize pores, and stay comfortable with no cakey or dry feeling. I can get medium-full coverage in just one layer, which is enough most days to cover any unevenness in my skin and look fresh-faced. It’s available in 40 shades, which is insane for a drugstore foundation!

2. Gotta Have the Brows

The brows are the frames of your face… that’s a saying, right? Even with the most minimal makeup on, I need to do my brows to feel like myself. I’ve already gone through three COVERGIRL Easy Breezy Micro-Fine Fill + Define Eyebrow Pencils because I love them so much. The thin tip helps you get precise application that looks natural when filling in sparse areas.

3. Define the Eyes with Mascara

Unless I’m going to a special event, I’ll be honest: I usually keep my lids pretty bare during summer days. But, I will define my eyes with some mascara to help my eyes look wide and bright. The COVERGIRL Flourish by Lash Blast Mascara has been one of my new drugstore essentials over the past couple months. 4. Shape Your Face with Contour & Highlight

Even though I’m keeping things light, adding contour and highlight helps shape the face and add dimension. I use the palette in Rose Nights, which is perfect for medium skin tones.

5. Prep Your Lips for All Day Wear

Since I hate babysitting my makeup, I don’t mind taking an extra step during my routine to seal everything in. I use the COVERGIRL Farewell Feathering Lip Liner all over my lips as a primer for my lipstick. This prevents feathering of the shade, which is super important when you’re going for a bold color. Filling in your entire lip area with liner can also help keep product out of fine lines.

6. Add Your Pop of Color to the Lips

The statement of my summer looks usually come in the form of lipstick, and what’s more classic than a confident red? I’m using the COVERGIRL Exhibitionist Lipstick in Seduce Scarlet. 7. Lock Your Look

Finish off with a setting mist to help keep everything in place. I am loving the COVERGIRL Look Lock Up Makeup Setting Spray, which not only helps my makeup look fresher while lasting longer, but also smells like cucumbers and is overall very refreshing. I’ll even mist later in the day as a pick-me-up if I’m feeling a little hot and run down. It makes my makeup look like new again!

In just seven steps and ten minutes, I’m ready to go! I love this classic look. Not only is it super quick to throw together, but the soft glam aspect makes me feel like I’m still expressing myself. The products are comfortable and long-lasting, even through my busy summer days.
