wet n wild Pump Keep Going Eyeshadow Sticks Review
If you follow my blog or social media regularly, you probably know that I’ve been leading a pretty active lifestyle over the past year. I work out almost daily either on my own or at bootcamp. While I don’t personally find the need to wear makeup to the gym, I know there are a lot of women who live life on-the-go and have to fit in exercise between appointments, classes, or even on their lunch breaks. wet n wild just released their Pump collection in collaboration with Cassey Ho from the online fitness empire, Blogilates, and it’s all about amping up your beauty routine before and after a gym sesh.
One product that particularly stood out to me from the wet n wild Pump collection was the Keep Going Waterproof & Sweatproof Eyeshadow Sticks. These twist-up eyeshadow crayons are supposed to be buildable, long lasting and supposedly last through the most intense workouts. Whether or not you actually wear makeup to the gym, a set-it-and-forget-it eyeshadow like this one that can withstand sweat and humidity can come in handy during many different situations, whether it just be a hot summer day or on vacation.
The Keep Going Eyeshadow Sticks come in six colors ranging from neutral to bold. Above swatched from top to bottom are: Mauve Girl, Protein Shake, Running Naked, Fave Leggings, Mud Run, and Endorphin High. They can be applied alone as an all-over lid shade, or you can work several different shades together for a more dimensional look. I found them to layer and blend together extremely easily without becoming muddy. I like to blend this type of product out with my finger, as the warmth from my skin helps soften the look. They do sheer out a bit as you blend, but adding a second layer for more full color is a breeze.
I decided to put this eyeshadow to the test during a recent bootcamp class— I blended together Mauve Girl and Protein Shake on the lid, highlighted the brow bone with Running Naked and used Endorphin High as a liner by applying it with an angled brush. I was really surprised to see that after my 45-minute high intensity workout, the shadow was still there and looking strong! The only thing I noticed was that Endorphin High had lightly faded (but was still very visible) and it had very, very slightly transferred to the top of my lid. The photo above was before and after the bootcamp class, wearing several wet n wild Pump products I was putting to the test in the following video.
Overall, I’m pretty impressed with these eyeshadow sticks. In the future, I would probably stick to using 1-2 shades max to avoid shade transfer. I think it’s important to note that they don’t claim that these are transfer-proof, only water/sweat-proof, so take that for what it is. I will definitely be reaching for these during hot summer days, group activities like hiking, and absolutely on vacations to humid climates. I don’t think I’ll be wearing them to the gym again, just because I typically go bare-faced, but to know they can withstand one of my bootcamp workouts, I can trust the wet n wild Keep Going Waterproof & Sweatproof Eyeshadow Sticks to stay on and look great through milder activities!
The wet n wild Pump collection is a CVS in-store exclusive, but you can find all the products for sale on the brand’s website.
