A Star Collaboration: Revolution x Coca Cola Palette Review
Revolution Beauty just paired up with Coca Cola to launch a new makeup collab that’s out of this world, and the eyeshadow palette has become my new go-to for bold looks!
The Revolution x Coca Cola Creations collection is inspired by the new Starlight Coke Space flavor. It’s supposed to taste like “stargazing around a campfire, as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of a cold journey to space,” according to Coca Cola themselves. The makeup collection encapsulates that with space-themed shade names and a vibrant galaxy color scheme that matches the new Coke bottles. This collection also serves as the brand’s festival makeup release.
The star of the collab (pun intended) is most definitely the Revolution x Coca Cola Palette, an 18-shade eyeshadow palette with shimmer and foil finishes— no mattes here! At first I thought it would be hard to create a balanced look with an all-shimmer palette, but the range in color tones allows for enough versatility, and the ability to add dimension.
Also in the collection is a mini palette which will save you a few bucks ($10 versus the full size at $18) but also limit your shade options. You definitely don’t need both, as they are mostly shade repeats— despite having different names. I personally feel the full size is worth it if you are a bright color enthusiast, but if you’ll only be adding a pop here and there, the mini may be a better choice.
I was pleasantly surprised with this eyeshadow formula, which applied very smoothly with high color payoff. Some of the foil shades, such as Rocket, Star, and Meteorite will apply stronger with your finger versus a brush, and some shimmer shades will produce glitter fallout, but overall these were incredibly easy to apply.
The shades also blend into each other beautifully, which is not only a sign of a great formula but also a thoughtful color palette. There really aren’t clashing colors here, giving you the power to mix and match across the palette.
In the look above, I used Zodiac in the crease, Constellation in the inner and outer corner, and Bubbles in the center of the Lid. I absolutely love how the shades work together and definitely reference the new Coke Starlight branding.
As far as this being a festival palette, I definitely think it can produce some stand-out, bold looks whether you’re using one shade or five. It’s a great option especially since the colors stay so vibrant all day.
You can find the Revolution x Coca Cola Palette on the Revolution website, and they will have a limited release in Target stores soon.
