Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish Review
Ya girl is super picky about glossy lip products. The thing is, even if it’s not a matte formula persay, I still want my lipstick to deliver solid color and stay put. Those can be hard boxes to check for slick formulas. But I’ll admit: as drugstore makeup quality gets better and better, I have been finding more glosses that I can tolerate or even enjoy. The newest one added to my list: the Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish.
What is lip polish? The brand clearly had a hard time labeling this product because it is smack dab in between a liquid lipstick and a gloss. The color payoff is as strong as a liquid lipstick, but with the shiny finish of a gloss. The texture is a mix of both, feeling slick at first application and then more creamy as it sets. Your lips will feel hydrated while wearing the lip polishes, as the formula contains Vitamin E giving it almost a balmy feel as well. This product truly is in a league of its own!
The applicator features a product reservoir to help scoop a generous amount of product from the tube and distribute it evenly without needing to continuously go in for more. The flat edge lets you cover more of the lip in one swipe, making application easy.

Hi, pigmentation! I am not a fan of sheer lipgloss… what’s even the point? So when I started to swatch these, I was totally on board. There is enough color payoff to totally drench the lips in these gorgeous shades. Most of them will give you full coverage color in one layer, with the exception of Game On and So Shady, which are a bit more sheer than the rest of the shades. You can definitely build them up, but try to avoid applying too much product. Less is more, and the consistency can get thick quickly. If you apply excess product, it will pool near the inner portion of your lips. Applying in a single, thin and even layer will give you the best finished look and most comfortable experience with no stickiness or heavy feeling.
Another huge plus? This formula is feather-proof, even when overdrawing your lips. It doesn’t fall into fine lines on or around the lips. With that said, they’re not smudge-proof or transfer-proof, so there is still a chance of smearing if you accidentally brush your lips, eat, or drink while wearing the lip polish. I ate lunch while wearing Date Night and experienced obvious transfer on my utensils and beverage, though the color still looked pretty decent afterwards and could be evened out by smacking my lips together. Some shades also stain, which will help the color appear to last longer, but these aren’t super long wearing just by design.
The Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polishes are definitely up there with the few glossy lip formulas I actually like wearing, especially as I’ve strayed away from matte lipstick for summer to achieve a fresher vibe. I don’t mind that they’re not going to last as long on me, since they’re easy to reapply and I can use them like a lip moisturizer throughout the day as well.
