5 Products for Lightweight Lips for Summer
I’ve been rocking a fresh makeup look 9/10 days this summer. I’m trading in my full face and going for the no-makeup makeup vibe. I still like working in subtle pops of color, though, mostly on the lips.
Lightweight lipsticks and tinted lip balms are perfect for summer since they are low-maintenance and feel great applied all day. For me, adding color to the lips amplifies a look to make it feel more finished, when the rest of my makeup is simple. These five lightweight lip products are the ones I’ve been keeping at arm’s length to pop on during summer and top off my looks.
1. Pixi GelTint & SilkGloss
These stain/gloss combos are great to carry with you for double the fun. One side contains a thin and easy-to-apply stain that delivers color and lasts for hours without fading or smudging. The gloss comes in a complimentary shade that can be applied on top of the stain for a different look, or on its own for a sheer wash.
Budding Orchid has a hot pink stain and a sheer pink gloss with shimmer. Muted Clay has an orange stain and a sheer brown gloss that can neutralize the look.
2. e.l.f. Tinted Lip Oil
This lip oil is moisturizing with Jojoba, Apricot and Vitamin E keeping your pout nourished in the sun. The color is sheer yet buildable, and the texture is buttery without being sticky. They don’t dry down, so the color is prone to transferring when you eat or drink. It has a sweet smell and can leave behind the faintest of stains with the darker shades.
Coral Kiss is the quintessential beachy pink, while Berry Kiss is a wearable purple tint.
3. Mineral Fusion Sheer Moisture Lip Tint
These tinted lip balms are the sheerest out of the five picks, but also the balmiest. Coco butter and Vitamin E moisturizes while aloe vera soothes, so these feel great when my lips are a little past chapped. The color is very light, but that makes them fool-proof and easy to slap on when out and about (even without a mirror!).
Smolder is avery wearable red, while Glisten is nude with shimmer. Adorn may look dark, but it’s rather neutral on the lips, deepening my natural shade a tad.
4. Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains
My love for these go way back to the beginning of my blogging days! The Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains offer great pigmentation while feeling smooth and hydrating. The color lasts for hours and leaves behind a stain, even when the glossy finish has faded. If you’re looking for the perfect balance between lipstick and lip balm, this is it. It’s got enough color payoff for full makeup looks, but convenient enough for a quick splash of color. I’ve been wearing Sweet Pink, which is a statement without being too bright.
5. Ulta Beauty Tinted Lip Balm
This clutch-friendly tinted lip balm is tiny yet colorful! The smaller size not only makes it great for keeping in your pocket, but also gives you more precise application. The color is smooth and easy to layer for stronger pigmentation. You won’t be able to find them online, but look for them near the checkout in stores!
