HUM Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder Review
When you think you’ve tried everything to clear up your skin, there’s probably one thing you forgot: what you put in your body often shows up on your face. Eating clean can help tremendously with many skin concerns, along with the obvious health effects like boosted energy. But easier said than done, right?
I’ve added supplements to my health and beauty routine to help my body get what it needs, especially the nutrients that aren’t necessarily being delivered by the food I eat. But taking pills is really difficult for me to keep up with, for some reason. One method I’ve been able to stick to, though, is incorporating HUM Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder into my breakfasts or afternoon snacks.
The HUM Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder is a vegan drink mix that’s made with raw greens, adaptogens, fiber, digestive enzymes and probiotics to increase energy, give your skin a glow, and boost your metabolism. One scoop into water or milk gives you a full serving of fruits and vegetables with only 30 added calories.
I personally blend my powder into a smoothie with a cup of almond milk, a cup of mixed frozen berries, and 1/2 tsp of stevia. The entire drink is just 145 calories total, which is less than my usual tall Starbucks order. So yes, I’ve mostly been drinking the smoothies in the morning but have also made them as an afternoon snack to beat the 3pm energy crash. There are three flavors available, but I’ve been drinking the Tahitian Vanilla Berry Infusion. It’s a very natural tasting flavor, and definitely not too sweet, which is why I end up adding a bit of sweetener to my drink. I like that it allows you to really customize the taste for your preference. The powder is a hunter green color, so it will darken up any drink you mix it into. The jar comes with its own measuring scoop, as well.
Speaking of the jar, it’s tiny. Especially with a high price tag of $39, I was definitely expecting more the first time I opened it. Here’s a size comparison of the jar vs. my iPhone X. Just something to keep in mind so that you don’t end up disappointed in that regard.
Besides the size though, I really do love this addition to my diet. When I have my smoothie in the morning, it really helps me wake up and get going. I feel like I’ve been more productive at the start of my day instead of slowly getting into a groove. It’s also helped me avoid reaching for sugary foods in the morning and afternoons. Since I go to the gym practically every day in the early evening, I feel like this powder has unlocked an extra reserve of energy that motivates me to push through my workouts, even after a full work day. But of course, what I really wanted to see was an effect on my skin.
I’ve been drinking the Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder for about a month straight now, every morning. I’m happy to report that after the first week, I haven’t had any new major breakouts, and my old ones have been healing faster than ever. Leading up to my period, I usually get some pretty painful problem zits, but only a couple small whiteheads showed up this time around. Paired with my current skin care routine, I’m also seeing a major improvement of skin tone and hyper pigmentation that had been around for a while is finally fading. I also have had absolutely zero eczema outbreaks since working the powder into my diet.
So here are my bottom line thoughts. Yes, it’s an expensive powder. However, it’s cheaper and healthier than ordering a daily coffee shop drink for a month. So when you put it into perspective, it can actually help save you money!
Overall, I’ve been happy with the changes I’m seeing in both my body and skin after incorporating the HUM Raw Beauty Green Superfood Powder into my routine. I’m definitely going to continue to use it for morning and afternoon pick-me-ups and as a staple in my skin care routine. You can get it for $39 at Sephora.
