Fitness Faves: Best Bluetooth Headphones, Exercise Mat, Gym Shoes & More
This year has been one of my most active since I’ve been in college. I’ve been hitting the gym, or hiking, regularly since March— hardly missing a day unless I’ve been sick or out of town. Since I’ve been spending so much time getting active, I’ve accumulated several new fitness favorites, including workout clothes and gym accessories that either make my routine more convenient, comfortable or fashionable!
Watch the video above for a closer look at my fitness favorites.
1. ThermoFlask Water Bottle / Simple Modern Water Bottle
Especially in the Vegas heat, there’s nothing worse than having to chug warm water after a hard workout. It’s just not refreshing! That’s why I’ve been obsessed with my insulated water bottles. I use the Thermoflask 40 oz bottle for pretty much everything— the gym, hiking, sitting at my desk. My smaller Simple Modern bottle is great for throwing in my bag. They both keep beverages cold up to 24 hours, and have even kept ice solid overnight! Having cold water handy makes cooling down after a sweat sesh a lot more effective.
2. Extra Thick Exercise Mat
A comfortable and supportive exercise mat is really all you need for a great workout. Whether I’m at home or at the gym, I prefer extra thick mats over thin yoga mats as they make floor workouts easier on my body. Especially with poses like the plank, or moves where you’re pressing your back into the floor, the extra support means I can go longer without discomfort.
3. Silicone Wedding Rings
I never wear my wedding ring when I work out, go hiking, or spend any other outdoorsy day being active. Instead, I wear these silicone wedding rings. They’re comfortable and durable, and are perfect for an active lifestyle. I also wear them on international vacations so I don’t have to worry about losing my rings or getting them stolen.
4. Enacfire Bluetooth Wireless Headphones
I’ve tried a lot of bluetooth headphones but these are by far the best. They are two separate ear buds that stay securely in my ears, even when running! What I love the most is that their carrying case actually charges the buds so you’re always topping off the power. I only need to charge the case every 2-3 weeks.
5. Avia Biker Shorts
I prefer compression shorts when it comes to the gym, because I’m constantly on the floor or doing exercises where I am lifting my legs. I don’t want people to be able to see up my shorts, and I certainly don’t want them getting caught on anything. So, I tend to stick to activewear that fits close to the body. These shorts are only $10 at Walmart and super comfortable while being supportive!
6. Saucony Cohesion Shoes
If you’re looking for do-it-all workout shoes, these are it. They’re comfortable cross training in the gym, running inside and outside, hiking and just walking around town. They have enough tread on the bottom for various terrain and I’ve hiked all sorts of environments in them already— sandy, rocky, smooth, etc. I never worry about having aching feet stopping me from getting my steps in.
7. HUM Nutrition Raw Beauty Skin & Energy Green Superfood Powder
Since I’m hitting the gym consistently, I have to keep my energy up. I’ve been using this drink powder to make smoothies in the morning and they really give me a boost! I mix it with frozen fruit and almond milk as a breakfast replacement and not only do I feel ready to go, but the drink has also been helping me feel more… regular, if you know what I mean. My body just kinda feels like it’s running more smoothly since I’ve been working this into my diet, since it’s full of great green super ingredients that are supposed to also help the skin!
