Best Spring Perfume 2020: Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Dew
I’ve been on the hunt for my new everyday fragrance for a while now. My biggest thing when it comes to perfume is balance: I like a little sweetness, but not sickly, and I like refreshing but not heavy floral scents. Even in my spring and summer perfumes, I prefer warmer base notes with a bit of musk to them for a little sophistication.
Now that you know a little bit about my taste, you might be surprised that I’ve landed on a perfume called Flowerbomb Dew as my new favorite. Don’t let the name fool you, though. This is a delicate yet complex scent that I instantly fell in love with, despite not being a huge fan of the original Flowerbomb!
The new Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Dew Eau de Parfum is brand new for Spring 2020, and stands out as the fifth addition to the Flowerbomb family. It’s the perfect in-between when compared to the overly-floral original and the deep sweet musk of Flowerbomb Midnight. Flowerbomb Dew’s olfactory notes include Bergamot, Dewy Rose accord, Iris, and Musk. It’s well rounded hitting on sweet, fresh, and warm vibes.
Now, I’m pretty sensitive to rose fragrance in that there are very few times I encounter it in a pleasant way. I think many interpretations of rose tend to lean heavy and mature— but not this one! Infused with transparent morning dew, the rose takes on much more of a natural essence.
While the scent is overall delicate, it has great lasting power. You don’t need to douse yourself in it to catch it on the nose throughout the day. As it wears, at least on my skin, the first impression gives you mostly a fresh sweetness with the bergamot and rose, with the dry down accentuating the iris and musk for a little more earthiness. Flowerbomb Dew makes a great day-to-night perfume since not one note outshines the other.
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Dew is going to be available this Spring 2020 at Sephora, available in 4 sizes including a mini travel spray if you want to try it out before committing to a full bottle. I have the 1.7oz bottle, priced at $115 which I find reasonable, based on how long perfumes usually last me.
