Cocokind: Good for Your Skin, Great for the World

A few months ago, I was introduced to Cocokind: a small skincare brand based out of San Francisco. Before even trying their products, I was impressed with what they stood for as a company.

Cocokind’s skin care line is completely organic and made of pure, natural ingredients— and nothing else! There are no additives to their products; there are no chemicals, preservatives… not even water (which can actually cause products to be drying). This means you get a concentrated dose of moisture along with nutrients that do wonderful things for your skin. All Cocokind products have a base of organic extra virgin coconut oil which sinks deep into the skin to hydrate, soothe irritations, repair damage and remove dead skin on the surface.

On top of being USDA certified organic, Cocokind is completely cruelty-free and none of their products are tested on animals. However, one of the most impressive parts of their mission is benefiting charities around the world that provide clean water, meals, and education to children in need. Proceeds from their sales are spread between charity: water, Children’s Hunger Fund, First Graduate and We Give Books.

For a company that delivers organic products that also give back, their prices are surprisingly reasonable. Two of my brand favorites that I’ve been using all winter are the Organic Facial Repair Serum and Organic Lip Balms.

The Organic Facial Repair Serum ($12.99) is made up of extra virgin coconut oil, avocado oil, and rosehip oil. Full of protecting and healing antioxidants, this intense moisturizer will save winter skin without clogging pores. A little goes a long way, and a few drops provide a ton of hydration that my skin quickly drinks up. I typically use this at night and I wake up with soft, healthy feeling skin. I sometimes experience mild eczema near my eyes during this time of year, and this serum soothes the irritation and gets rid of dry patches.

The Organic Lip Balms ($2.99) are made from coconut oil and beeswax, and hibiscus powder for the tinted version. These glide on so smoothly and create a barrier between your lips and the dry, chilly air. I’ve been carrying both with me in my bag and applying one or the other daily.

I love what Cocokind stands for as a brand regarding their commitment to pure products and giving back. They are available in a handful of San Francisco organic retailers but also online on their website.

  1. I will always support a company that give to charity above all else if I can! (That’s why I only buy my body products from The Body Shop, even though they’re may not be the most amazing out there, they’re still really great and they give to schools somewhere way over there … LOL I can’t remember where. On top of community sourced ingredients). Thanks for the information!!

    1. Yes I love what The Body Shop does as well! It’s great for these companies to do good and make an impact 🙂
