Are the New e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blushes Rare Beauty Dupes!?
e.l.f. just dropped another new drugstore dupe, and it’s gone viral in less than two weeks of being on shelves. The new e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blushes are just $7, but offer lightweight and long-lasting color, a ton of pigmentation, easy blendability and a gorgeous radiant finish.
There are currently 9 shades in the product line up, though these have been pretty tough to get hands on. I personally had to go to two different stores and ask employees to grab product from the back, as they had them in stock but not actually on display yet. I was able to snag three shades that caught my eye.
Let’s cut to the chase: I love these. The formula packs a punch, and a little goes a long way. Above, I’ve deliberately swatched too much product to show you the shades more clearly– one dot will really be enough in most instances. However, I found all three shades to swatch a lot warmer than they look in online photos. Maybe it’s my skin tone? Also… ignore the goose bumps in the above photo. It’s cold!
This formula contains Hyaluronic Acid, Rose flower water and Hibiscus flower extract that feels comfortable on the skin with a smooth finish. While the brand describes the finish as dewy, I would say it has more of a natural radiant look once set on your skin. The blush stays looking vibrant, even and smooth all day– it looked freshly applied even after I wore it for 10 hours, pictured above! No fading, no patchiness.
e.l.f. also released their new Liquid Blush Brush, which works great for applying this formula evenly. It’s one of the softest brushes I’ve felt from them, and a steal at $5! But, you can still get a very even blend by patting with your fingers.
Now, are the elf Camo Liquid Blushes really dupes of the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes? I would say… they’re pretty damn close. The texture of their formulas are so similar in feel and blend, they’re both extremely pigmented and long wearing. I will say that I noticed the Rare Beauty blush to be a bit more truly dewy than the e.l.f., but the difference is negligible.
Comparing the shades Suave Mauve from e.l.f. and Encourage from Rare Beauty, they look very similar blended out on the skin. On first swatch, Encourage seems much cooler but the gap between them closes when you use a realistic amount, as seen below.
Both shades performed identically when it came to lasting power and overall finish on the skin throughout the day. There were several times I forgot which side was which when doing this wear test, which is enough for me to classify them as dupes! All in all, whether or not you’re actually looking for a Rare Beauty dupe or just a reliable liquid blush, the e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blushes are, in my eyes, the best at the drugstore when it comes to ease of use, color and performance. This kind of quality for under $10 is absolutely mind blowing.
