Longest Lasting Bullet Lipsticks? Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipstick Review

Has Revlon perfected the matte lipstick formula?! The new Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipsticks may just be the most long lasting bullet lipsticks I’ve ever worn… and comfortably at that.

The Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipsticks give some big claims: up to 8 hour wear, transfer-proof, powerful pigment, with a naked lip feel. I’m just gonna say it right off the bat: it lives up to all these claims and then some.

I’ve stayed away from matte lipstick for the past couple years. I’ve leaned into the glossy lip trend, and in general have prioritized comfort when choosing my go-to products. But the Suede Ink Lipsticks check all my boxes, and I’ve reached for them consistently for when I need all-day wear, and nights out when I don’t want to worry about touching up.

The way I describe this formula to friends is that it’s not necessarily moisturizing, but it’s absolutely not drying. It contains Vitamin E to help nourish your lips while wearing, but to be honest it just feels like nothing on my lips. I forget that I’m wearing them most days! I’d still suggest a light lip balm before applying if you’re used to moisturizing lip products.

If you don’t typically like matte lipsticks and how they feel, I would say there’s still a chance you’ll like these. I love that I can get that classic matte look without the classic matte feel.

As you can see, these lipsticks offer full coverage, opaque color. On first application, you may need to warm up the formula a bit– I swipe it a couple times on the back of my hand. After that, they glide easily and give you powerful color in one swipe. One thin layer is all you need for the color intensity you see above!

While they officially claim up to 8-hour wear, I’ve actually gotten up to twelve myself, with only a bit of fading in the outer corners of my lips. At the very most, I may have to touch up the inner portion of my lips after eating– basically on the border of where my lip starts turning wet– but that’s only after a particularly greasy meal. It seriously holds its own and doesn’t feather, smudge, or transfer. I love how it never gets on my tumbler straw while I drink water throughout the day!

The only thing that I’m on the fence about when it comes to this lipstick is the bullet shape. While I like the large, flat angle for swiping color on, I find the round shape can be difficult for creating a clean border. Just a personal preference, I prefer a pointed lipstick!

The Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipsticks are definitely worth picking up if you need a long lasting lip color, but want to avoid discomfort!
