The Best Budget Friendly Glitter Eye Makeup
The holiday season is one of my favorite times to rock glitter eye makeup, though I am admittedly very picky about the glitter I wear. It’s one of the messiest makeup products, can be difficult to apply and often ends up in places you don’t want it.
But… it’s so damn pretty. And so, I’ve tested and rounded up the best budget friendly and drugstore glitter eye makeup that’s not only a breeze to use, but you don’t need glitter glue for any of them!
1. Pixi Glitter-y Eye Quads ($14)
Pixi’s makeup is underrated as it is, but their Glitter-y Eye Quads are seriously a drugstore hidden gem. These are super densely packed pressed glitters that can be applied without glue, sticking to your lids easily when applied with your fingers.
They can be packed on for completely opaque coverage, or tapped on lightly as a topper. These are probably the least messy chunky glitters I’ve ever used with little to no fallout. The only thing I don’t like is that each shade (at least in the Rose Bronze palette) has black glitter– it’s a little funky but overall they’re still beautiful.
2. ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Frog ($6)
If you love the look of holographic glitter, but don’t want anything too flashy, grab the ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Frog. This pale pink has very fine holographic shimmer that adds a pop of glam without going overboard. It’s often sold out, but you can also grab it in the ColourPop at Target Serving Looks Duo.
3. e.l.f. Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow ($6)
Using a liquid glitter formula is a super easy way to layer up the shimmer without making a mess. The e.l.f. Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow is one of my favorites, with an easy swipe-on applicator and a gorgeous formula full of multi-dimensional glitter. These do apply more like a topper vs. an opaque layer of glitter, but can still be layered up to an extent.
4. Moira Beauty Glitter Glitter Liner ($7)
Another way to add a more low-key pop of glitter is with glitter liner! The Moira Beauty Glitter Glitter Liner is my absolute favorite to use. They’re packed with glitter particles so you don’t need to build them up too much, and they make an impact both on their own or layered over color liner for a statement. Plus, you can get 15% off with code SlashedBeauty at checkout!
5. Covergirl That’s Rad Palette ($9.99)
If you’re looking for something that can provide a cohesive glitter eye look, check out the Covergirl That’s Rad Palette. This purple-themed eyeshadow palette contains four glitter shades among mattes to create balance.
The glitter isn’t super chunky, but still makes a statement for a festive look. The white glitter definitely works best as a topper while the other shades can be used on their own and have a good amount of pigment behind them.
6. Profusion Blooming Hues Palettes ($5)
Another makeup find that I don’t hear a lot of people talking about, but it definitely deserves some hype: the Profusion Blooming Hues palettes! These 5-pan palettes are about $5 and each contain a stunning pressed glitter.
The glitter can be applied in a solid layer without glitter glue, doesn’t make a mess, and looks awesome with the other shades in the palette– which are also very pigmented, might I add! There are 6 versions of Blooming Hues palettes with different color themes.
