I Used to Hate Lipgloss… These are the BEST Non-Sticky Drugstore Lipglosses
Until recently, I was a straight up lipgloss hater. But… can you blame me? Drugstore lipgloss used to be notoriously gloopy and sticky, and the color either super sheer or clownish with no in-between.
That’s clearly not the case anymore, though. Drugstore lipgloss has come a long way since I swore off it, and with glowy makeup trending more than ever, I’ve been curating my collection carefully.
Being a former hater, I’m very picky about how a gloss looks and feels on my lips. Here are the six best non-sticky drugstore lipglosses that are comfortable to wear– nourishing, even!– while giving you a juicy lip look.
1. Maybelline Lifter Hydrating Lip Gloss ($8.99)
This was the lip gloss that got me back into lip gloss, so that’s saying something! The Maybelline Lifter Hydrating Lip Gloss features hyaluronic acid and coconut oil in the formula that not only boosts hydration, but gives the lips a fuller look.
The shimmer in this gloss catches the light to further enhance the shape of your lips. They’re not sticky at all, in fact they have a bit of a slicker, balmy consistency.
2. Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss ($8.39)
This gloss checks all my boxes from consistency, to comfort, to color. The Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss has a thin, lightweight feel on the lips with high impact color and ultra glossy finish.
The formula is made with agave, moringa oil, and cupuacu butter that work to hydrate the lips and enhance the shine. It feels so good and smooth, nourishing my dry lips while I wear it. If you hate the traditionally thick feel of gloss, you’ll love this.
3. NYX Butter Gloss ($5)
The NYX Butter Glosses are a drugstore classic and have been maintained popularity year after year. With 31 shades, there’s something for every skin tone, whether you’re looking for a neutral or bright shade. This gloss is super rich, with a thicker cushy feel that doesn’t get sticky.
The formula makes your lips look super plump and juicy, and feels conditioning while you wear it. Plus, they’re cruelty free!
4. Undone Beauty Big Poppa Gloss ($10)
A newer discovery of mine, but an instant favorite: this “clean” lipgloss formula is described as a gloss-balm hybrid with a longwear formula. The Undone Beauty Big Poppa Gloss is made with Cloudberry seed oil that conditions your lips while feeling super lightweight and never sticky.
This gloss is available in both sheer and statement shades, and is vegan and cruelty free.
5. Physicians Formula Diamond Plumper ($8.99)
Let your lips shine bright like a diamond with this gloss, which contains real diamond dust! The Physicians Formula Diamond Plumper is a moisturizing lip gloss that creates the appearance of fuller and smoother lips.
This is a nice plumping product for those with sensitive skin as only produces the slightest tingling sensation that’s more cooling than anything, leaving your lips looking more pouty.
6. Milani Keep it Full MAXXX Plumping Lip Lacquer ($9.99)
If you want a more traditional plumping lip gloss, stinging and all, this one is effective AF. The Milani Keep it Full MAXXX Plumping Lip Lacquer has the pigmentation of a liquid lipstick, the shine of a gloss and uses peptides with Chili Pepper Resin for a maximum plumping effect.
After I apply this, I can feel the plumping effects immediately and the tingle lasts for a little longer than 15 minutes. As you can see in the before and after above, the formula does fill and round out my lip shape noticeably. The hyaluronic acid and hydrating mango seed oil make the gloss comfortable and hydrating once the tingling subsides.
