Sistar Cosmetics Glo Glitter Eyeshadow Review
As much as I love dramatic, glitter eyeshadow… I hate working with loose glitter. Even with a good glue, it usually ends up all over your vanity, hands, face, and other places glitter definitely doesn’t belong. So lately, to satisfy my sparkly makeup desires, I’ve been experimenting with liquid eyeshadows that can pack glitter onto the lid mess-free.
A couple weeks ago, I discovered a new affordable makeup brand called Sistar Cosmetics, which I had never heard of until recently but is available in many beauty supply stores in the US. One of their products that immediately caught my interest were the Glo Glitter Eyeshadows. These shiny liquid shadows looked like they were dense with glitter and oh-so-glowy, I needed them on my eyes ASAP.
The Glo Glitter Eyeshadows have a soft touch applicator that’s flat with a rounded tip, which makes application easy straight from the tube. I’m able to use the applicator to create a cut-crease look without the need for concealer or extra brushes. However, you could totally use a thin liner brush and use the formula as a glitter liner! The possibilities are endless.
Are these not the most gorgeous swatches!? The formula of these shadows are definitely liquidy but not runny. The shadow itself has color to it, but there is so much glitter deposited that it almost looks like a full-on even layer of sparkles. They all went on completely opaque except for Diamond, the silver shade, which was a little translucent.
Here’s an example of how they look on the eye: super reflective and beautiful. They last all day as well! While the brand does sell a primer specific to these shadows, I didn’t experience any creasing when worn alone. However, there was a bit of fallout of glitter onto my cheeks as I finished my eye makeup and more throughout the day… nothing too crazy, but the primer should help with that.
Overall, I’m incredibly impressed by the gorgeous performance of these liquid glitter eyeshadows. The best part? These are only $8.99! They honestly perform a bit better than the similar Too Faced product I reviewed earlier this year, so it’s safe to say I’m shook.
