wet n wild x Pacman Collection Review & Swatches
I know I’ve been harsh on wet n wild recently. Their past two limited edition collections just haven’t lived up to the quality I expect from the brand. So when the new wet n wild x Pacman collection landed in my mailbox, let’s just say I was hesitant. But after a few days of the box sitting on my beauty room floor, I decided to dive in with positive thoughts and hope that this time, we’d get a hit.
FINALLY! I literally let out a Woop Woop! when I started to swatch these products. THIS is what I know wet n wild for— high pigment, easy application, and practical products. If you’re considering any of the recent launches from the brand, this is the one to get before it’s gone.
First let’s talk about the wet n wild x Pacman Game Over Color Palette ($9.99). I was immediately drawn to this palette, which contains 9 bright shadows I wanted to dip into ASAP. I wasn’t disappointed when I swiped the first color across my skin. Holy pigment! This is the formula I’m familiar with from the brand: soft, easy to blend and with a ton of color payoff. The only shade that was a bit wonky was the navy, which applied slightly streaky though was easy to build up. Most of the shades in this palette are matte as well, so you have a lot of possibilities when it comes to creating full looks.
The second palette in this collection is the wet n wild x Pacman High Score Blush Palette ($9.99). This contains a good range of hues with one matte peach blush among three shimmery pinks. The lightest pink could even be used as a highlighter on medium/deep skin tones. Again, the formula was silky with good color payoff and downright pleasant to apply. I love the matte peach for everyday summer looks.
Anyone else loving these lipgloss shades?! The wet n wild x Pacman Ghost Gloss Lip Glosses ($5.99 individually, $22.99 in a kit) are very similar to the Liquid Catsuit High-Shine Lipstick formula. They’re glossy and serve up a shiny mirror finish, but they also pack a ton of color onto your lips. Plus, the formula offers moisture as it’s infused with Vitamin E, Murumuru Seed Butter and Shea Butter. I like that we get some normal shades like pink and red, but the orange and blue are a bit more daring.
I’m not a big fan of gratuitously adding shimmer to my face, so the wet n wild x Pacman Power Pellets Bronzer & Blushlighter ($6.99) aren’t really for me. They’re super subtle (I couldn’t get them to translate in photos), and basically add sheer color and shimmer to the face. The bronzer can definitely make your face look a bit more sun-kissed and glowy, which I think can be nice for summer. The blush doesn’t give off enough pigment for me to actually want to use it. The only duds in the collection!
Other products they threw into this collection were an apple-shaped Lip Balm and Lip Scrub (a bit steep and gimmicky at $4.99 each in my opinion) and the Perfect Game Nail Kit ($9.99) which features five Pacman-inspired shades in both cream and shimmer shades. They also have two brushes in the collection with floating glitter in the handle– fun!
Overall, this collection is a hit for the brand. Thank goodness, because I don’t think I could stomach another flop! The 90s nostalgia is super on-trend, and if I wasn’t so excited to actually use the products, I might keep them as collectible displays.
Blushes are out of stock. I want them I’m very pale they might just have enough punch for a ghost. Lol! The lipglosses look so cute but I do have more than plenty of those all from WetnWild and few from L’Oréal.
I’m not surprised about the blushes being out of stock, they’re definitely wearable for every day!
The shadows are a little to bright for me but I would love to grab the blush palette! The nail polishes are super cute too.
