What’s in My Carry On: 17 Hour Flight to Thailand
Thailand, here I come! Adam and I are currently en route to our Honeymoon, which entails a 17-18 hour travel day with a layover in China. Yep, it’s gonna be a long ride.
After years of international travel, I would say I can pack a mean carry-on bag. Now luckily, I’m going to be packing most of my things in my checked luggage. I’m only bringing one backpack on the plane with me, and packing all my must-have travel essentials inside.
Everything I’m packing in my carry on bag will help me stay comfortable, feeling fresh, and entertained during this long flight. Watch the video above to go through my bag with me. Keep reading for my “packing list” of sorts, which I hope can help if you have a trip coming up yourself!
Jansport Superbreak Backpack | This backpack travels everywhere with me. The two compartments are just enough to get all the must-haves inside, putting everything you might need at a moment’s notice in the front pocket. The main compartment can hold a lot as well– I’ve even fit my 15″ laptop inside!
urBeats Headphones | urBeats are great in-ear noise cancelling headphones that will help you zone out on the plane, whether you’re watching a movie or listening to an audiobook. Remember to bring headphones with a standard jack to fit into the in-flight entertainment system!
Springs Banjees Wrist Wallet | It’s the wrist version of a waist wallet– keep all important items and money on you at all times. This makes it harder to lose stuff or be pick-pocketed.
EOS Lip Balm | Honestly the only reason I pack this is because, while it provides temporary relief from dry lips, it’s very easy to find inside my bag.
Simply Summers Eve Cleansing Cloths | Feminine wipes are essential for me to keep me feeling fresh throughout the ride, especially if I’m not going to have time to shower or get to the hotel before our first vacation excursion.
Colgate Optic White Wisps | Great grab-and-go toothbrush alternatives to keep your teeth clean without having to unpack your toiletries. Plus, they’re disposable so you don’t have to worry about how to hygienically pack them back up.
Inflatable Travel Pillow | I favor inflatable travel pillows because they are so much easier to pack up when not in use. Plus, you can customize how full you want them. This one even folds into itself to become compact and protected when you throw it in your bag.
Cat Sleeping Mask (similar) | Especially since we’re going to be flying through a huge time zone jump, a sleeping mask will help me get in the Zzzone.
Kleenex Daily Cleansing Cloths | These cleansing cloths are water-activated, so you have a way to clean your face without packing an extra liquid on board. They have exfoliating beads embedded into the rounds and can be transferred into a zip bag to maximize space.
Milk & Sass Macaron Brush | A compact detangling brush that comes with its own cover– inside is a compact mirror for styling on the move.
iPad Pro Case | I switched to this slim iPad case that’s incredibly lightweight, and props it up at the perfect angle to either stream videos or type on the touch screen.
Hanging Travel Makeup Bag | This is my favorite format of travel makeup cases because it keeps your products off the counter. I usually hang it on the back of a door in my hotel room as I get ready for the day.
