Get Photo-Ready Makeup At Home with the Miracle Sponge Collection
When you ask any beauty lover what their favorite application tool is, I can bet that a good chunk of them will answer with a blending sponge. A great sponge will give your makeup a professional look at home in a snap. My go-to? The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge has been a staple in my collection for quite a while now, and I can’t imagine a flawless face routine without it. Much to many beauty lovers’ excitement, Real Techniques just added two more sponge variations to complete the Miracle Sponge Collection that help complete your look!
Read on to see how I get a photo-ready makeup look at home using the sponge trio.
Fresh-Faced Foundation
I start my routine with a liquid foundation with buildable coverage paired with the original Miracle Complexion Sponge. This sponge is perfect for blending foundation for a smooth base without any cakeiness or mask-like lines. I personally use it dampened, which helps diffuse the product for a natural finish. The flat edge really makes it unique, which helps get makeup in the contours of your nose and eye area, or any other hard-to-reach places. The rounded edge makes covering large areas with foundation a breeze, while the tip is great for spot-blending concealer under the eyes or on blemishes. A bit of brightening concealer under the eyes helps me look more awake and bright!
Catch the Mess As You Go
Since I start with my foundation, I have to be careful about makeup mishaps when I move onto the rest of my face. The new Miracle Mini Eraser sponges are multi-purpose sponges that you didn’t even know you needed. The flat edge helps “erase” makeup mistakes like smudged liner, flaked mascara, or eyeshadow fallout by picking up the makeup instead of smearing it. I love using it to clean up over-blended eyeshadow, like the smoky eye look I did today. You can also use the rounded or pointed side to blend makeup in smaller areas.
Don’t Skimp on Sculpting
Finally, it’s time to add some definition and color back into the face… especially since the camera is notorious for washing me out. When photos are going to be taken, I do go a little heavy on the sculpting, which means a good blend is essential to making it look pretty on camera. The Miracle Sculpting Sponge offers a sharp, flat edge that’s great for precisely blending out contour under the cheek bones, and a smaller bulb and edge for blending highlighters. The larger rounded sides are great for adding color with blush, too! I love using this little sponge with my cream contour, blush, and highlights because it makes them look completely natural and seamless. Again, my favorite way to use it is slightly damp to really boost its blending power!
Whenever I use the Miracle Sponge Collection, I’m left with a picture perfect makeup look that lasts. The sponges need to be replaced every three months, but being so affordable, it’s not a problem with Real Techniques. They’re the only budget-friendly sponges I trust that still get the job done beautifully! They are sold in-store only at Ulta until January 2017, and then will be available at retailers nationwide. Find out more about the new additions and more ways to use them on the Real Techniques website.

These sponges are perfectly shaped for getting into those hard to reach places.
Loving that smoky eye! Real Techniques makes sponges and brushes that are so awesome. I want to try that contour one, but am also curious about using a sponge to fix my makeup boo-boos..
I love the look of those purple sponges. They would be perfect for blending out concealer.
I like the smaller sponges, the shape is perfect!
Never thought about using those sponges for eye makeup but it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the tip!
