REVIEW: New Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Colors

For everything we must accomplish in preparation for the holidays- shopping, cooking, decorating- it’s easy to dull a home manicure quickly.

That’s why the launch of Sally Hansen’s Triple Shine Nail Colors could not have had better timing! These nail colors offer high and long lasting shine, even through daily wear and tear like washing your hands, washing the dishes, etc. The Triple Shines have an exclusive formula featuring an Ultimate Shield Complex that offers high impact color and maximum shine. A combination of Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E protect the shine from water, detergent and every day wear. The real secret ingredient is Guanine, which is crushed natural pearl found in aquatic life, adding a natural iridescence and lasting shine.

I got to try the Triple Shine Nail Colors in Wavy Blue and Dream Sequins. These are both lovely colors to incorporate into your holiday looks.

    triple shine wavy blue

Wavy blue is the most beautiful blue nail color I’ve honestly ever seen, and perfect for the Hanukkah parties I’m attending this weekend! I was wearing it earlier this week, and I was pretty unproductive in class because I would get distracted and just start staring at my nails. A true blue with lighter blue and teal shimmer particles, this color really reflects the iridescence and fluidity of the ocean. In lower lighting, the teal color shines through even more. I only needed two coats for full opacity. With my Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat, Wavy Blue lasted about 3 days before obvious tip wear occurred (although I think with a better top coat, it would have held out longer). The shine, however, lasted through the entire week. The color looked freshly applied and was eye-catching for days.

Dream Sequins is a glitter top coat, consisting of rose gold shimmer particles in a clear base. The particles themselves are very tiny, round and all the same size. I found it a little bit difficult to get a lot of glitter on the nail in one stroke, but had much better luck patting the particles on. This color would look stunning if paired with a rose gold watch or other jewelry. Dream Sequins rocked as a top coat because when applied over another polish, it keeps the base chip-free and shiny for a long time. I applied it on top of Sephora by O.P.I. Nail Color in The Way Tutu his Heart. Dream Sequins would also be very striking on top of a black polish.

I really liked the brushes on these colors. They were on the wider side and applied the color quickly and evenly across the nail. The bottles have false tops on them, so the rectangular part comes off and a basic round handle is housed underneath. So, be warned, don’t pick these bottles up by the top, because the false top may come off and your bottle will fall to the ground!

The Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Colors sell for $4.99 in drugstores. The collection includes 29 beautiful shades, and there is something for everyone. Check out all of the shades at Ulta. Which is your favorite shade?
